Well yesterday I drove the Mav 50 miles each way to see the outlaws, the first time for a long distance in nearly a year believe it or not.
My shoulder replacement last March put paid to driving it, as I found it painful to change gear usually from 1st to second, or third down to second.
When the gearbox gets warmer, it gets easier though.:thumb2
I have used it for short journeys, but yesterday I thought time to give it a blast prior to the up and coming MOT next month, bit smokey, so hoping a few blasts will cure that. It just had an oil and filter change, and fuel filter.
So...
We would like to take her and us for a run out say in Derbyshire, when the fancy takes us, but we would like to go where standard cars would find it difficult, but I don't want any scratches or dents in the old girl, or the Mav lol... :lol
I don't want to plaster the underside in mud either, as I am not that able anymore to start the power wash malarky lol...:doh
I want to be able to go out alone, at a time to suit us when we are able.
I am undergoing more tests and scans for my Prostate cancer, (6months from diagnosis) and this week I will find out if things are stable, or worse, so now as I use an external sheath catheter, I am able to make longer journeys, so my quality of life is possibly set to improve.
However, just as we see the light at the end of the tunnel...... my wife was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, :doh:doh so this week she is also undertaking scans, and we will soon get the results from that one too. So if we have the odd day between hospital visits, it would be nice to get out, now we have some sunshine, as due to my illness has left me confined to the house for most of the time.
Early retirement for us both, has not been that good.
Our moral is totally wrecked, as soon as we get over one thing, something else happens, we then say... what next? and boy do we soon find out. :surrender:surrender
