Lord!
:doh
You like THAT colour?
I know you've got some "issues" (collecting spares/tyres, assembling things too early, etc.), but THAT colour? Blimey!
I've got to say that's the first one I've seen in that colour and I'm not impressed.

You must have a wood burner
Open fire.
99% of what I burn is pallets. Oh, get them for free.. :doh

I heard you shouldn't burn those in wood burners because they are pressure treated and it can leave a nasty residue in the chimney that can cause hotspots and at worst fires in the chimney stack?
Is there any truth to that in your experience or is the just the haters having to pay gas bills just scare mongering again?
I wouldn't burn treated wood
I wouldn't burn treated wood
For the aforementioned reasons?
Or is there something else I should be aware of?

I burn anything I can get hold of, treated and untreated and have never had an issue. I do sweep the chimney most years though :thumbs

We do too. As much for free as possible
I wouldn't burn treated wood
Mainly because I have a pretty much endless supply of free wood and most treated wood burns too quickly. Some treatments are not wise to handle much either plus theres the fumes.

I'm not what I find more disturbing...
...the fact that you like that colour...
...or the fact that you've have that photo readily to hand.

I don't know about pallets, as I would have thought that they were low cost high turnover items, and pressure treating timber is expensive.
The chemicals used these days are a whole lot less toxic than in the past. They used mercurial and arsenical compounds in the liquid, which replaced the natural wood sap removed in a vacuum chamber, when the vacuum was slowly released.
The oxidisation of these chemical was seriously life threatening.
I do not know the current situation, but think that I may still have concerns more for my lungs than my chimney.........:nenau

Do people really like Norovirus Green? Yuck! :lol:lol:lol
I bet that colour looked nice when it was new, I'm not keen but don't dislike the colour, however I do have a newly found fondness of the swb terrano especially a commercial as an alternative to the overpriced rotbox swb patrols ive seen fetch very strong money just recently..
