Does anyone use Outlook the program that comes as part of Microsoft Office for their Email? If so you may have noticed that the preview/reading oane has disappeared. You may of gone into view and put it back but sadly when you open Outlook again it's reverted back.

This is due to an update so kindly put out by Microsoft, if you want to dump the update and put the reading pane back follow the instructions below.

Best thing to do is uninstall KB3114409. If you''re on WIndows 7, go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features and click on "View Installed Updates" on the left. In the little search bar at the top right of the window type in KB3114409. When the results come back the update should be there. If it is, right click on it and uninstall. You might have to reboot your computer when it''s done (it''ll tell you) but hopefully everything will be back to normal when it''s done.

Hope this helps.

Pete a lot of people just use webmail rather than have a program installed these days.

Just to cause confusion Microsoft also renamed Hotmail to Outlook which is webmail.

It's technology Pete, I hate it.

Thanks Jim... Not had the problem yet, but it has not downloaded any updates in a few weeks, so I am probably still to get it. I am on 8.1.

Yeah I'm on windows 10 but still the same way to get to the uninstall. Outlook the app/software is part of Microsoft Office and not part of Windows.

I have windows 10 but Outlook [Office 2007] has not altered.
Possible reason may be I used Microsoft Money in W7, it would not work in W10, found a patch which sorted MM by installing an earlier version of IE.
This was before MS brought out a fix.
I did not alter IE I had my local PC shop fix it for me.
Premiere Computers in Southend, good guys if you are local and have a PC problem
