View Full Version : any one know any thing about terrano calmini arms
I keep looking at these I know they're unavailable but how different were they over standard I realise they're stronger etc but I take it they were longer to try an correct cv joint angles. If so anyone know how much as I'm gonna have a word with a good mate who likes to Fabricate things in his work shop and might get to chat to him. About either altering standard ones or make from scratch
We work together alot so favors are a good payment between us lol
I found these on their web page and look very similar to later terranos https://www.calmini.com/detail.php?b=1&m=3&t=2&p=623&n=
IIRC they are longer which helps to stop camber issues when you lift the front end up, Makeitfit has a set on his Mav which he bought from an old member called Bluebull years ago
Cool hoping hell pop up.and shed some light and what is different over standard:doh
I fitted a full calmini kit on a Isuzu bighorn (trooper) including upgraded torsion bars etc, made a huge difference to the handling of the truck... a website I used to go on had a big following of d21 terrano's and some guys copied that upgraded wishbone and posted the sizes up to make your own... I have just tried to find it but it was a few years ago and just cant seem to come across it.... In nz everything has to be certified or certifiable and I remember that the calmini kit was not certifiable but cant remember why something to do with welding, just nz transport industry justifying its existence and stopping people modifying things, it was honestly hard work having anything modified and everything I had was modified:doh:doh.
just remembered why people made their own wishbones, it was so they could make the parts and get them welded together by a certified or coded welder, therefore being certifiable so deemed safe to use...
Mark, I like the sound of this, if he's going to knock up a few sets and the money is right I'll be interested, you know I'm good for it mate :thumb2

Yep I have Calmini top arms. They are a bonus for sure as they help correct camber issues after a 2" lift. Over the years I've had them I found their own bushes are poo and have had new ones made locally.
I can take one off for copying if needed but not till we get this blasted garage sorted. New year should be ok though :D
My version also has been opened up a bit for better shock clearance. There are a few versions out there but the ones I have are defo strong

I've also modified the top arm spindle to include grease nipples :naughty
