A while back, my wife had cause to go into my workshop, on my request, to get me my breaker bar so that I didn't have to get out from under the truck.

She couldn't find it, so called to me asking "what's it look like?", I told her it was long and shiny. "Every thing in here is shiny, I was told. She got it right eventually, two ratchets later.

She later remarked that I would buy anything if it was shiny.

I said that I didn't buy tools on there appearance, but on their merit as a piece of equipment.

I have just purchased these, from Folkestone Fixings for £49.

I already know how the conversation is going to go.

I've used them quite a bit. They are very competitive on price. Service is excellent. The ratchet spanners are Sealey, by the way.

Nice looking spanners it's a shame but these days I am slowly moving away from doing my own repairs especially heavy work like suspension. I have a Britool a/f socket set that my wife bought me about 25 years ago that I keep just in case I decide to buy a classic car or bike. My metrics are mainly Kamaza or Halfords. When I walk the centre aisle at Aldi and gaze lovingly at the tools her indoors makes some remark about my aspirations! lol

Pretty good. Nice smooth ratchet with a 5° pickup on the rotation. Well pleased. Been after a set of ratchet spanners for a while, the pretty colours kinda clinched it.

Well went on the Folkstone Fixings site on Black Friday the nice coloured spanners had all gone but I did buy a set of 10 Britool 1/2 drive metric sockets for £8.49!
I can't believe the price how can they do it at that price?

I know, it beggars belief doesn't it.

Most of my power tools are 110v Makita, (great quality, 3 year guarantee ), and I usually get them from FFX. Price is usually cheapest, delivery is usually pretty quick, few days.

If I need a Makita power tool really quick I use Fastfix, I once ordered a drill at 8.30am, online, get home from work the same day and it was there!
