Almost bought one of these a few years back.went and had a look and liked it so I went to the bank to get the money and in that time someone else came along with the cash and bought it.

Yeah a bit of a hefty price tag.the one I looked at was up for £1500.
Didn't look as clean but was solid and looked after.

Personally I just think they're a bit too big, I think that's one of the reasons L..d R...r D......rs did so well, small enough to squeeze through ridiculous lanes and gates etc. If I was going abroad however, somewhere pretty open, I would take a trol :thumb2

That was our first 4x4 iv still got a couple of half shafts sitting here in the garage and a work shop manual.

Fitted bfg 31 10 50 15s to it was unstoppable :thumb2:D:D:D got a video of the wife at gravel mania showing all the landrover boys up

yes, I find my patrol just too big and sometimes it just becomes a pain, nothing is made for a vehicle this size in this country especially carparks!! I didn't find it a problem back in nz or oz, I find myself using the missus focus more and more for nipping around.

still, getting off topic, a very nice example of a MK/MQ PATROL and just up the road from me, shame its a petrol and leaf sprung....

suzukis have a following, land rovers have a following in a small way but other than that Nissan safaris, patrols, Toyota land cruisers, SWB PATROLS dominate nz, both have the reputation of being un breakable in normal/extreme conditions. There is a saying, if you want to drive into the desert you can take a land rover, if you want to drive out of the dessert take a Nissan.
small trucks are just no good on long corrugated roads (literally like driving on corrugated iron) you need long wheel base to absorb the corrugations, cracked chassis are common around suspension mounts especially in the outback. my mate bought a patrol from the outback, when he took the carpets out to clean them and get rid of the sand he found a snake had shed its skin under them,oinly about a foot long but a little un nerving and quite common.

Lol, I showed my five year old some VHS tapes a couple of weeks ago, very confused face lol

Don't waste time on your weekend doing that bud, will be good to see it but whenever you have time to do it :thumb2
