Has anyone fitted some front, rear or side marker lights to their truck ? just i'm sort of toying with the idea:rolleyes:

Had them on mine for years. Just changing them over to LED ones at the moment. Will see if I can find some pics later as on phone at mo. If not I will get some pics of the LED ones later in the week when I have finished fitting them. Had to change them as I kept drowning the old ones and the LED ones are sealed units.

I currently have this at the back... The small ones where the number plate was, are not as bright as they look, Digital cameras really pick up on red LED's.

An older picture, but you can see the front DLR's set into the head lamp trim, under the front Fogs. Unfortunately not all LED products are equal, and I made the mistake of buying Ring DLR's from Halfrauds, which are not very bright, so at some time in the future they are going to be replaced with better ones.

I also have little White LED's mounted over the top light bar, and the bottom light bar has 36 small white LED's that glow with the side lights. The DLR's are not on in this picture as the engine was not running.

and the side marker lights along the man steps.

As I said, the step lights are just normal capless bulb types, and not really water proof, so with 3 years of wadding, often at night, when they are on, the contacts have turned nasty, and some stopped working. While at the GDSF, I got some sealed LED units, which I am hoping to fit this week, rain permitting, then I will try and get some night shots.

Cheers Clive:thumbs still got the remains of my man steps down the back of the shed:lol so might cut them up & use them as a mounting point for the sills if I can

What would be really handy, if you cold actually run the wires down the inside of the step tube, which would afford it some protection from the elements.

I initially used then crimp on bullet connectors, to connect mine up, but the salt spray and regular immersion in water caused them to just turn to dust. I then went to brass connectors, which lasted pretty well, but were still pretty corroded when I removed them the other week. As said previously the lamps were not water tight, so eventually the terminals the bulb sat in also corroded.

This time I have used sealed LED lamps, and I made a wiring loom up with small 2 pin computer connectors, then once it was all fitted into place, I covered the connectors with liquid insulation, to protect it from water.

Here are the lights...
