i use my iphone a lot for this forum, hence most times i dont bother with capitals etc etc
cool i will give it a go on my phone, so what are the benifits of becoming a member and how many members are there?
Which model, petrol or diesel, if diesel is it the 2.7Td or 2.7Tdi, this has the intercooler and a scoop on the bonnet.
So what year etc.
I'll start off with 30mpg, but depends ... how fast, how you drive etc
Rustic
its a 2005. 2.7 diesel with the scoop and inter cooler, been driving mixed of 70mph down the toll road and normal speed on A roads. need to use the tank up and refill etc to get the right amounts. but at the moment used half a tank for 150 miles :(

Doubt you will be getting close to 30 at 70mph, these are as aerodynamic as a house brick lol
You might achieve it at mid 60's with a light foot lol..
Others that drive the Tdi, will give you an idea of what to expect on long runs.

Most use both phone and laptop,You need to get Tapatalk on your phone if you haven't already got it.:thumbs
Looks like I am getting more like 20 at the moment but staying off the toll road could save me diesel and toll money, was more wondering how trusty the fuel gauge is at the moment half a tank for 150 miles is a bit of a shock. But I was a little late for work yesterday so could of been pushing her a bit

Hi and welcome.
Is there a reason you bought a terrano for 70mph toll road use. A fuel station fetish perhaps? :D
Ian
Lol no fuel station fetish
More for family reasons my family was out growing my BMW 1 series coupe lol

MPG does depend a bit on what pump you have if a Bosch and a light foot 27 on a run if a Zexel more likely 21, I have both, but my Zexel motor is fully loaded at all times, Rick
Sorry pal you might as well be talking another language!
How do I check the pump? And what do you mean by fully loaded??

Look at the MAF on the air inlet if Bosch then Bosch pump, if Hitachi then Zexel, fully loaded means my motor is just that fully loaded with kit 247 probably goes 2.5 tonnes all the time, one box alone takes two to lift, Rick

My 2004 2.7 TDi averages about 27 mpg with mixed driving. I've tried to improve on that but driving like a saint only seems to give me about +1 mpg. Towing the caravan takes me down to about 22 mpg.
Oh, and welcome :thumb2

Hi Kev and welcome aboard. These are great motors, had mine since 2002 and another as a project car. Sadly given the class of vehicle don't expect economy, the 3.0 litre is better than the 2.7 for economy but I personally prefer the 2.7. No need to worry about timing belts or chains, these are gear driven and have a proven pedigree. If you are not confident about it's history then I would give it a good service with correct spec of oils too.
As you've found out there's a lot of banter on here as well as great info. As we've found out recently it's a close knit community on here too but newcomers are always welcome.
Enjoy your new truck and ask away if you have any problems.
By the way I access here with an ipad, galaxy s3 phone amd computers. I keep getting a message pestering about tapatalk app but the more it pesters the more I resist.

Bosch hay, you'l be joining the cooking oil gang then.:augie
I used to run one of my old cars on cooking oil
Is it safe on one of these machines??
Thank you for welcoming me everybody!!!!

It's safe on the Bosh pump but it damages the seals I think on the Zexcels.
You will get more advice on this i'm sure, John :thumb2
Sling it in mate!!!!!!!!
I've ran my 96' Maverick (Zexel) and '04 Terrano on Waste Oil, New Oil and at the moment homemade BioDiesel that I'm making using waste oil from various restaurants and take aways :thumb2
Learning from past problems, and this is only my opinion, I have removed the OEM fuel filter setup as I like to see whats going on in my filters I use clear plastic bulb ones (5 Microns) and replace the feed and return lines with clear food grade PVC pipe (I have some pre cut lengths for sale if you are interested)
I've ran pure oil straight out of the 20l tins down to temps of about 3-4 degrees before you see a noticeable behavior difference in idle at cold etc and sluggishness, at this point I usually just throw some Diesel/Petrol in but this year I'm going to try and Winterize my BioDiesel the right way with additives :thumb2
I just used to use veggie oil straight from the bottle but don't know how much it is in France

To be Honest unless you can fined a big cash and carry where you can buy in bulk,it's cheaper to use diesel here,It's only 1.07€ Lt at our E Leclurc about 80p Lt :augie
I thought that might be the case

Good afternoon to you :)
Not seen many of these beasts down here then I come out of work and someone has parked next to me in one. I am sure they are flirting lol
Fuel light came on this morning on the way to work so I am happy with that one tank a week!! Any ideas how many gallons are left when the light comes on? Is it the standard 1 gallon??

yes about 5 ltrs but not wise to run till the light comes on as any debris in the tank will be drawn to the pick up, also on a hill you may draw air, Rick
I will bare that in mind thanks for the info
