Best place or not?
Best place or not?
I've found Mann and Blueprint to be the best, steer clear of the Milners BOSHI junk :doh
I dont use a conventional one now though, I've binned all the stadard primer junk etc and now use a clear glass bulb that cost £2 each

I also run Mann filters but someone suggested to me my running issue could be naff filter, I suggest getting a genuine nissan fuel filter for another fiver :thumb2

And the rest, Nearly £50 for a genuine one for mine, but the oil filters are only a few pounds more.
Got a blueprint one on mine & it's been fine think it was about £8 from local car shop

Bad move, as zippy says what about water, get water in your pump and it is a new pump end of story, the original filter could cope with around a small cup full but would trigger the warning light much sooner, and do not say you don't have water cos you do unless you keep your tank full 100% of the time, condensation is the culprit and produces loads at very low tank levels, Rick

agreed rick but my filter is set so water sits away from outlet to ip.if i get any i can see it.
Here's my setup

Thinking on what Rick has said he has a very good point and I've never really thought about that, and that may be the reason why when I've been running round on 1/4 a tank after its been sitting for a while why I get shitty running and haven't been able to diagnose it yet!!!!!!
Thats what I love about this forum :clap
Rick, would one of these work? It's crucial I see whats going on when using BioFuels/SVO /WVO etc etc

banshee,if you level filter out the water/crap if any sits below the internal filter outlet to ip.
mine are twice the size of yours and red and clear, about the same price though.

Yes Banshee that filter is much better, just make sure the element is OK for thicker fuel as it is labeled for petrol, Rick

if you want a different unite go for a cav with glass bowl drain off for derv, cheap enough and easy to fit as i had a twin unit on my old boat.

Can't remember what make mine is but it's off a tractor. Clear bowl and water drain off. Filters a few bob a go . I use an outboard engine primer bulb. So far so good and using Bio too ;)

Only problem with that is you loose your primer, run out of fuel and you'd better be good at sucking :lol
