The 1st time I saw this club was in 4x4 Magazine (May 2007 page 112) I then got to know HB on another forum & he recomened I should join  TBH I was a bit unsure spending money without seeing the goods, but thought what the hell & joined 8)As for useing the site it's every day
just found it on a search engine when i was looking for terrano sites! i was a bit apprehensive about paying but its only a tenner.. knowing what i now get for my money i would pay a lot more for membership.
at the age of 66, saging a bit at the front end - back end ok following medical intervention!!!
Found the site browsing for help with Mistral problems, now resolved.
£ 10 was fine at least for moral suport . Workshop detail have probably saved me ,waterpump change and front bearings.
Browse the site probaly 4 times a week to see what can go wrong next,or how well my 94 is doing.
£20 would depend on the pension and the price of diesel.
Hope the site can be kept alive , it obviously satisfies the needs of its many users.

Here's my honest reply.
I first found this site just over 18 months ago.
I found the answer to a question I had about my Patrol, the info I gleaned from here saved me some money so I thought it only right to pay the £10.
I would be more than happy paying £12 or £15 a year, lets face it 3p or 4p a day is not going to break anyones bank.
This place has a huge potential….. it could be a whole lot more than just a club
I’m on here most evenings,
i bought a terrano about 4 weeks ago with a few problems, so i googled and found this site and joined straight away, and have saved a small fortune since, i would be prepared to pay more for membership if need be, and i use site every day, tezzer
I owned an Isuzu Trooper and was a member of ITOCUK. When I traded the Trooper in against a Patrol, I used Google to look for a Nissan4x4 or Patrol owners club.
I consider the £10 well spent. You cannot get much for that these days.

How did you find this site ? search engin, www.ask.co.uk
What made you join ? Took me ages to join but did in the end.
Did £10.00 fair, would you have paid £20.00 ? mm maybe £15
Did you feel uncomfortable paying £10.00 without being able to see the site in full ?........ yes, thats why it took so long to join
How often do you visit the club site ? every day, i welcome newbies, chat and look at evert post.
Could do with a few meets down south, but need some one with a little more know how than me ...
Bought terrnano on thursday googled nissan 4x4 forum .Looked at webpage ,noticed function near me following weekend[frickley]joined that night ,met mav, dave mudd and a few more that weekend took terrano opffroad that weekend.Didnt even know how to engage low box but was shown then and been a member ever since.Put out loads of flyers .Site well worth the money just a pity more members dont get involved regarding social side .Use site every day .JD aka dinky
Bought my terrano a couple of years ago when i was first considering moving from a car to 4x4, i was originally looking at troopers but had heard a few stories. found the T2 and liked it straight away.
i think my first search for an owners club was when i wanted to fit an alarm and needed help on the central locking wires. there was no club here in ireland so came across this club which had a section for non members with limited help, and the respones i got were fast and lots.
10 quid was not alot to ask so i joined and have saved alot since, including rob (sharkie) coming over here and together we done some work on the terrano.
im on nearly everyday although i dont always post i do always read.

I bought a Navara on the 1st September, looked around for some sites. I originally joined UK Nissan 4x4 but had looked at the OC for s few weeks and then took the plunge.
£10.00 - doesn't get much nowadays, I would probably pay £20 for next year but I was a bit concerned at first.
I read practically every thread and post, although most posts are regarding Mavs, terranos and Trols (which I have learned loads about). I have asked a few questions and had good answers straight away.
I am also a memeber of Navara.net, but i'm lucky if I check it once a week.
I agree with a lot of the above, but on the whole a good site and good fun.
Cheers
Graham
Did a Google and ended up with this and a South African club, couldn't understand what they were saying some of the time so like what I saw here and been here since.
Still working on a snorkel so I can drive over and try your green lanes
One day I'll get across and knock on a few doors
Will run site and neat members

Hello all,
I also found the site while searching for info on my Maverick which i purchased from an auction.
Got chatting to a bloke in the West Midlands.
He turned out to be my best mate in the end and i will always be very grateful to him.
Little did i know i would end up running his club.
Also met loads of fantastic people that have been like family and not just members of a 4x4 forum.
Long live the N.FM.4x4 O.C 8)
Thanks everyone.

Like most on here found the place looking for something else. 8)
As for paying £10 a year to tell the truth we pay alot more on other forums (upto £25 a year) with the toyota, so it's not alot to say what you all have saved us with the help given.

Thanks to you all for all the great comments that you have made.

Newbie to the club. Joined on the recommend of HB and Sweety who both gave me good advice on Difflock.
Was a little worried at first about paying £10, but had looked in a few times as a non-member, and then started to think that I was missing out on something !
I'm still a member of The DOC, which is £20 per year, and I still attend the Monthly Pub Meets, (the Mav goes down a storm !).
Would like to find out about "Meets" in my area, and the process of attaching photo's simplified, without the need to link to a gallery.
I've been on here everyday, reading past posts etc., and catching up on Chez Nissan !
Overall, a friendly, informative club. Long may it continue.

this is my second post on this subject .
as some of you know I havent run my Terrano for nearly a year.
I run a l r Discovery so not a lot of info available on here for me .
So why do I stay a member and come back most nights.
SIMPLE.
this site has a camaradary you would struggle to find elseware.
plus the topics posted make good reading.and sometimes i can even help
I HOPE :P
I am a member of some l r forums as well but spend nearly all of my time on here .
The terrano not sure what to do with it yet ,but just may turn into an off roader one day if money allows .

Would it not be beneficial to move this post to the Testimonials section of the site. That way folk that are looking to join could see what we all think of it and how great value for money it is! Might encourage folk that are wondering if its value for money to join.
I was told about this site by Mav and he told if I don't join he'll come and let my tyres down. And he said he wouldn't by me a tea at the teabar.....::nenau

my memory is not what it was, well no to be honest its never been very good!
but i do remember searching for stuff to do with auto hubs i think, and getting in touch with Shark1e and then I met up with a few others at a few events including Mav, and it has been a great place for me.
I don't have a Nissan 4x4 anymore but I remain a member for the fun and friendship, I have suzuki 4x4's and paid for a membership of a suzuki forum, but i never visit it and sill come on here instead, it is the only forum i really use and intend to stay on for as long as they put up ith me!
Thanks to everyone but particularly Shark1e, Mav and of course more recently Bat21, for a great club and a great site, as of course this club is more than just this forum!
Used to have a Pajero and was a member of POCUK, so it was natural to look for a Nissan 4x4 site when I got the T2 in January, actually joined a little before I got it to check potential problems etc. Great move, money well spent and I have already got more than my money's worth. Pity I can't get to the UK as often as I'd like, then I could wind you all up in person but don't worry ,if I am travelling across I will let you know. Likely places would be Wales,East Mids or maybe even Perth or Wigtown up in Scotland.

Thanks Pete, I certainly will. The other half is going to Wales at the end of the month, girly few days with my mate's wife. They are travelling from Burton on Trent to Maes-Y-Pandy and probably going to hit the coast from there.
if your ever in the east midlands you will have to give me a shout.
Might be in East Mids at the end of July but don't know for certain if I'm going yet but if so will be staying in Burton.

Well I finally did it,
I found the site from a listing on ebay for spring raisers and found the site did the try before you buy bit :augie Cant fault it, you Guys and Gals are all doing a great job. I feel proud to be a part of it.
I have only had my 2.7 LWB Mav for just over a year, found it fun for towing my little caravan. Enjoy using it to go shooting too...
Hope to get more out of being a full member now, SO DO NOT DISTURB :lol just going to read up on all the bits that I couldn't get to before and place some adverts etc....
Thanks again...:bow

From what i have seen so far it was well worth a tenner, being a tight git i wouldn't have paid any more though.:D
Came across the site searching for information on Terrano repairs and looking for a workshop manual. Am sure I was using google at the time.
No complaints with the £ 10.00. Probably wouldn't complain about £ 20.00 either. Would figure it may have saved me a few hundred euro as there are some minor repairs I wouldn't have tackled without the information gained from the site. If only I had joined a few months earlier it might have saved me a lot more as I had some costly repairs done that I am not sure were totally necessary after reading some entries on the site.
I don't normally join clubs and certainly not online clubs or chat groups but I made an exception in this case because there is a lot of very useful information on the site and replies from members to questions I have asked have been generally helpful. Had no problem signing up without seeing all the content as I had seen enough to tell there was enough on the site to be useful.
In recent times have been checking in nearly every day but I would expect this to lessen when back to work in the new year.
I would be more than happy to pay £20 or more to be part of this club, Entertainment level is great, less now on 4x4 than there once was but the correct answers are there when you want them with some real experts on hand.
I think its a good policy not to lock or edit posts that offend, well done.

when i gave my mrs my audi so she could get to her new job, i had her car to get shot of and bought her uncles T2, looked on the net and everybody raved about this place, and bloody right they were!
The £10 has been a sound investment, the knowladge and helpfulness of this site is just astounding!
meet some top blokes!
Just a shame due to my job i cant always get on here or meet up as much as i would like to.
but when i'm away next year it will be my link back to the UK!
long live the T2!
I bought my Terrano last week and as it had a heating fault i did a search on the net for an owners club and this was the top result... Only to realise that to get any technical info i had to become a member but as it was only a tenner i thought it´s got to be worth a go, well best 10 quid i have spent in a long time!! Prob would of had to think twice about joining in the first place if it was 15+ but would quite happily pay that much now!! I know a couple of clubs i have been a member of in the past do a 1 month subscription for 2-3 quid as a trial... Don´t know if this would maybe attract more people to join?? Every club that has offered this to me i have then gone on to become a full member!
Found by Google
I have a natural aversion to paying club memberships............and so I should have! With everything that I do I get constant requests to join clubs involved in the work that I do. If I joined all of them the yearly bill would be bigger than Santa's shopping list.
However, this one looked honest and it was only a tenner so I joined.........What the hell it's Christmas :lol
I'm glad I did. This site is full of information and, because of the fee, appears to be free of the usual trolls and timewasters that a lot of forums seem to attract like magnets.
I think that the fee is fine and if it puts some off then so be it
Certainly I am glad to pay and will support this club as much as I can.
Although I don't do much off roading I have owned 3 Patsies now as well as a host of other 4x4's as I need heavy and capable tugs for my work.
As a restorative engineer and a capable mechanic I do all my own maintenance and mods.

For someone like me who has never had any real interest in car repairs, etc., this site is excellent. The bits of knowledge I have picked up I have put into practice, something I would never have attempted before. The site encourages 'newbies' like me to have a go, I really appreciate that 'push'. As for the fee, worth every penny. I will certain retain membership.
Cheers, Paul
I'm in my second year of membership, certainly worth it, even if just for the advice. Some great people on here, no timewasters or tyre kickers because of the fee................ A great resource

Lad I work with told me about the site his Dad had a Maverick and he had all sorts of engine problems that he sorted from this site.
I paid my first £10 and I thought it was a lot as I run an old Mercedes and found a couple of really good MB sites that were free.
As I have a R3mR I found real problems trying to get hold of a manual and thought the £10 was worth a try.
Was not going to bother renewing after that but my PC crashed and I lost my manual so I ended up joining again.
If it went to £20 I probably would not renew my membership unless I had mechanical issues I could not resolve myself.

Hi, I'm a newbie to the site but have owned Maverick/Terrano's for a few years, latest one being an'05 3.00ltr SVE.
Was experiencing some strange problems from rear diff like rear wheel wobble when reversing on full lock and wheel hopping when starting off uphill, and general poor stability round bends poor etc.
Into classic scooters and belong to the LCGB (Lambretta Club GB) so thought maybe there was a Terrano forum and the answer was....YES there is!
Great Tenners worth, got the rear diff oil changed, re-filled with the proper stuff and what a difference! Drives like I thought it should.
So was just about to offload the beast, take a big hit on the value, but this site saved me and provided great piece of mind - best of all I keep the T4.
Would recommend defo!
Found it thru google.
Joined in a search for knowledge:D
Happy to pay tenner. Would pay a bit more...
I'm on the site every day. Learn soemthing most days. Even if it's just who to avoid. (Irony)
Great site. Friendly, knowledgable and active.

Hi Paul, welcome to the site. Just taking up scooter riding again after many, many years! I cannot afford another Lambretta as yet, having to do with a Suzuki Bugman 400 which I am buying for the wife! If you have any spare bikes lying around, Ha Ha, give us a shout! Still get the 'scooter' mag, but just dreaming at the moment! Have you any photos of yours? paulclay1747@hotmail.com Cheers, Paul (North East)

Hi Paul,
Yeah, lot more expensive second time round, first scooter cost me £50 in 1971and surprise, surprise no spare ones around lol!
Still with the Burg you won't break down, couple guys in my local club got them and they're tasty kit.
Yeah, the scooter scenes pretty big, if you get a chance get yourself off to one of the rallies, once you've smelt the two stroke you'll have to sort yourself a Lammy - I did after a holiday in the Isle of Wight that coincided with the National Scooter Rally!
I'll send you a couple of photo's - you can get some bargains if you hunt around.
Cheers, Paul

Was thinking of taking a punt on a T2 on ebay, seller insisted it had big gearbox problems....he'd been quoted £1500 to repair!!
Did a quick google on "Terrano Forums" and this place popped up.
Didn't hesitate paying the £10, asked the question and within 20 mins and several extremely helpful replies later I bought it.
The guys on here were spot on with their diagnosis and I'm a happy bunny.
Thanks Again.

well since this thread seems to have been woken up....found the site in 2005 trawling for help on my second T2.....most definitely would not pay more than a tenner - most other car clubs are FOC or donations only....worth a punt for a tenner though!

well i first bought a mistral back in 2005 as i needed a 7 seater to take extra family on holiday didnt intend to get a 4x4 a people carrier was on shopping list.
trying to find out a bit more on the jap import i bought led me to the club on the internet at that time it was in its infancy and no charge was made for membership. i contacted Sharkle and he telephoned me to chat and told me about a meet at the JAE that year with the following week 2nd rally at wicksteed i attended both and was hooked.
i got very involved in the club and those older members will remember i use to run the quaterly newsletter as well as being a moderator and commitee chairman.spent many a happy time on the green lanes.
i sold my mistral couple of years ago(i found the old post i made saying i had) that was the biggest mistake i made in cars.
it is good to come back to the site and see it going as it was before if not better and i am glad to have paid my tenner
May the club go from strengh to strength
Found the site on google
well worth the tenner and would pay more £15 - £20 on renewal.
I would like to participate in the social side more but with work commitments etc no always possible.
Great people and good company i log on most days

Having bought my first terrano a 97 se, in 2001 and by 2005 it needed pedal box replacing I joined the club for info which was freely given. I still have my 97 terrano and I also own a 52plate 2003 se terrano, wife drives older model which has done 130 thousand miles, and if it was not for this club It would have cost me a small fortune, I have done all the maintainance on both terrano's with the help of the club, so paying a tenner is well worth it. and I try to help others by answering questions others ask .
