Hi,

Just bought a 2005 3.0Di SVE with black leather trim. Although it only has 50k on the clock, every driver must have done every mile with left hand on gear lever. It's wrecked !

Has anyone got an original black leather gear knob in good condition, I want one that you can still clearly see the markings on the top.

Any leads on spare parts or good breakers also wanted!

Thanks.

Fit an after market one:thumbs TBH took mine off as they are far to small for my liking & fitted 8 ball pool balls in their place which are much nicer but the old ones will be refitted when I get shot of the truck. Mine were the leather ones but were just starting to look old at 51K but it's due to nissan using crap leather:doh

Or it's done more than that :augie:augie

My 2005 has nearly 90.000 and the gear knob leather is still in fairly good condition, I can still read the diagram on it.

No, mileage is verified on service record and MOT's

If most of the mileage is done on motorways, then up to fifth for a hundred miles and minimal use of the gear lever.
If city driving, then the gear lever will be used several times a minute... ie several thousand times in a hundred miles lol.
So depends on the history.
Also the clutch pedal will also show similar wear, depending on the drive.

So clutch wear is also dependant on driving history.

Mine we nasty when I brought it!!!!!

Nearly broke my wrist trying to remove them both as Nissan glued the later ones in, I found a great big pair of grips worked well :naughty

I used the old ones from my Maverick as they were in good nick :thumb2

My 05 plate gear knob was also shabby. Think you'll be lucky to get a good one to be honest.
