View Full Version : No can do...
I've just had another go at fitting my A bar and I must admit defeat. I took the grille off, but see no way at all to get to where the top straps have to be bolted on. Maybe if I removed the rads or complete bumper and I don't want to get that involved. What a design that you can't get a hand in let alone a drill etc.
Anyhow, I'll put it in the for sale section later and well as ebay. Shame as it's a nice bar :(
I have put a few new pictures and a video on Photobucket (1st link) as well as the ones I took the first time round (2nd link).

Damned if I can see how it goes on. Unless I can get someone local to fit it, I'm gonna sell it...

mine are cut off, only fixed at the bottom

I would prefer to have it fitted than sell it. Will just the bottom bolts hold it OK?
Or if anyone is around my neck of the woods and would like some beer tokens if they could fit it I would be a happy bunny.

If you want to get rid of it let me know, I'm quite keen on it now at the right price :thumb2

I used the spot light mounts on mine as the top mounts had been cut off.
I made a couple of brackets out of 5mm flat bar.
I bolted mine to the top of the bumper.
Took out 2 of the clips that hold the plastic to steel frame and replaced them with m8 nuts and bolts.

OK I'll take another look later this week. I'll be able to cut off the bird crud welded brackets :lol
Got any photee's of your spotlight bracket mounts? From what I can see from a photee of my A bar, the spot mounts are not high enough to a straight flat bar, did you make up a stepped flat bar?

Thanks.
Has anyone got a top grille clip that I could buy? I managed to drop one and for the life of me I can't see where it fell.

yes I had to put a crank in it to follow the shape of the bumper and slide up under the grill.

Sorry mate got side tracked.
Can't really find any that show the brackets but all I did was make two flat bars with a crank in the middle to follow the shape of the bumper, a hole in each end.one end picked up on the spot light bracket and the other picked up on the back of the bumper where the plastic bolts to the metal inner. http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/pp343/elty001/2014-02-04073540_zps2c889c06.jpg (http://s426.photobucket.com/user/elty001/media/2014-02-04073540_zps2c889c06.jpg.html)
