So luckily I had the offer of getting my light bar fitted at work today by the electrical technician, he's a very clever chap :clap and it saves me a 200 mile journey to see Mr lazy ferret or Mr Solarman :thumb2

So I arrived bright and early at work, we took to removing the bar first,

After 2 minutes the bar was off and the wiring disconnected

Now before we removed the original fittings from Clive's old light bar we realised we would have to drill the roof for the fittings, so instead we married up the light bar against the fixings from the old bar. Another important factor to take into consideration is the age of your Terrano!! the newer models have the aerial at the front and so would obstruct the light bar!!

We then widened the original halfords brackets just slightly so the new fittings would go inside it and bolt from the underside of it Also keeping it low:cool:

Here's another test picture of us lining it up

Out came the probe before we wired up :naughty ooh err :naughty
Quick test with probe, yup, all good

Now came the part when we had to marry up the wiring, we joined up the wiring

We followed the driver door seal as originally used by lazy ferret ;)

A quick shot of his probe, about 160 quid :doh

All wired up, still running of the headlamps which I did not want, I wanted it to be independent. The problem we ran into once we disconnected was the switch lazy ferret kindly gave me as it had an "off light" which was now permanently illuminated :doh

It was then we used my new flick switch which has an led for "on" only :thumbs

Looking good...

I bought some small ones ridiculously cheap on Ebay, but they are not a patch on my top one. The were so bad, I decided to take them apart to have a play....

I found that the LED's sit too far into the mirrors, for it to focus the light, so got some 2mm thick rubber grommets, and fitted them behind the reflectors, which focused them a lot better, and has made them a lot more usable...

Moral of the story is, you get what you pay for.

While I had them apart, I added some tiny LED's so it glows gently on side lights as well...:D:D

Here you go... the front of my car on side lights.

The bottom set of lights is the dim lights in the small lightbar I took apart and re-built.

I know it's an old post but this has Alex all over it.
This dude on YouTube is trying a dimmer switch setup that also strobes!
