View Full Version : Little Bit of Sunday Laning
Decided I'd go test the Terrano out on a lane I've been constantly get stuck on because the motor has been too low and the tyre tracks are horribly wide because of knob heads in modded Disco's
Fail no more!!!!!

Hey I'm a gentle sole, more technique than speed ;)

The knobs round here just think it's good practice to run at stuff and just wheel spin until they get out or reverse and go again if that doesn't work they just go away, fit bigger wheels and tyres, bigger lift kits and then come back again and do the same until it's only drivable to them :doh :(
This lane has had some abuse to the point that the local police have put signs up at the start of the lane warning of their powers in being able to issue section 59's and under some circumstances seizing of vehicles

No need for jealousy :lol:lol

And righty so, if you want to tear up a lane, be prepared to fix it :thumb2

Or just go to a Pay and Play and join the rest of their scum mates
I'm still buzzing about how well the truck did today, just goes to show how unstoppable these underestimated 4x4's are!!!! With a few simple mods and the right driver I'd put my Terrano against anything now

Amen to that, it's a shame in sone senses the terrano has such a bad name for itself in terms of off-roading when infact they do more than hold their own,
At my last pay n play I rescued a stuck Isuzu trooper and disco who originally went to save me :lol (after I guy saved by a petrol terrano.
Unfortunately you see these YouTube videos of terranos getting stuck in puddles with road tyres with profiles the size of a cheese toastie.... What did you expect...

I still need a Lokka in my life as open diffs are the work of the devil :(

Agreed! Although having a full locking diff in the Trol's rear axle helps I still wouldn't mind sticking a Lokka in the front one :thumbs
About £140 inc shipping for the Y61 Lokka so not too bad, bits for my 3.5" stainless snorkel have first dibs though!
Looking good by the way bud :thumb2
Yeh pay and play type sites often require a different tack to how you'd drive on a greenlane. I was down at the offroad site yesterday (dash vids to follow) and revs, momentum and difflock were the call of the day for a lot of the site as there was a lot of porridgy type mud and standing water. We've had a lot of rain the past week or so and there's a lot of the site members have purely offroad trucks with mega aggressive tyres that had done a good job of churning up most of the lower/more sheltered parts... At ~ 3 ton fully loaded the Trol is the heaviest thing that goes there and there were a few times my route was decided for me just by the existing ruts/softer patches!
In fairness to the other offroad club members though, they mostly have Landrovers of one form or the other with no axle difflocks so they need momentum to overcome the open axle diffs.
Good fun though and I had a couple of mates with me that had a go - one of them was scared to put any lead in his right foot and the other often had too much  :doh
