MOT for another year

That's the Trol passed for another year (no advisories)... although the repair bill ended up a good bit more than I thought :doh

Looks like the garage did a really good job though and they also replaced all the brake pipes (as well as the rest of the failures from the pre-MOT) I also knew as soon I took the winch bumper and saw the full width of the crossmember that it was going to be a bigger job...

At least tomorrow I can't put the winch bumper back on - she doesn't look the same with the plastic bumper back on! :( :lol

Great that it passed, as said before I need to get mine booked in for new rear brake pipes, on a brighter note I replaced my headlamp bulbs today with the Osram night ones recommended on this forum and took the opportunity to have a good look at my front cross member, it is solid so guess either been replaced or I have been lucky.
Was going to fit my second recovery point but Nissan dealer local to me is rubbish and bolts not due till the 4th March.

Always good news when you get the new MOT.
Well done.
I find it is always best to keep on top of any issues as you go along.

Mine is due late April, so today I have given it a good thrashing to loosen it up, 100 mile round trip, red lining it a few times and next week I'll do a quick pre MOT, clean rear brake drums, adjust handbrake, adjust bearings at front if required, and check my ball joints, and hopefully when my wife takes it in, during my shoulder recovery, there won't be any surprises.:nenau
I'll still worry though...:doh

Nah dude, had a 9,000 pound/4 ton Superwinch in it from the start :thumbs

I told the garage I'd put the plastic bumper back on to save them time removing the winch bumper... also meant there was no chance of them messing up my winch wiring!

Yeh that crossmember is a pain, can't even think why it should have gone as bad as it did :nenau

They did do a good repair job on it though, it's shaped to take some of the radiator brackets etc so they decided to repair the original rather than cut it all out and weld in box (which was what I thought they would do).

Picture after removing the plastic bumper and before fitting the winch bumper back on. The red wires are for my worklights, wired into the front foglight cables via dead switch behind the grill (just need to stick my fingers through the top of the grill to turn it on and off).
