Oh yeah!

Just had the call at work from the tyre specialist, our maintanence chap ran the wheels down to fit these bad boys in the van, and he had just come back.

Whatcha think? :naughty

£50 for the wheels, valeter cleaned em right up, and £100 per corner

£450 all in inc balancing ect :clap and I can pay over 2/3 months :D

Let the fitting commence tomorrow

Cheapest I found was 105+ vat + fitting, so £400 all in is pretty good :thumb2

the £50 is the wheel cost from Banshee :bow

Are you sure that tread pattern is aggressive enough for your needs :)

So you keep saying 33" what actual size are they.

Kind regards

Russell.

They rarely measure in at 33" though, Will be more like 32 or 32.5".

My 35x10.50x16 Fedimas measure in at about 36.5" :naughty:naughty:naughty:naughty

Closest metric size seems to be 265 85 15 which makes sense as slightly narrower than my 285s so he has a chance of them not rubbing to bad, I hope.

Oh you went with the new style BFG MT's then:eek: thought they weren't macho enough for you:augie thought you wanted the old style with the same tread pattern as you had on:nenau If you get stuck now you either shouldn't be driving the lane due to it's condition or it's your driving style, TBH it's not all about the centre tread pattern it's also how much side lugs a tyre has which the BFG's have a lot of:thumbs

Oops.. he probably hadn't thought about that...:doh

It needs to be the same size and type in order to be legal on the road.

So how do you go on with the space saver spare wheels if it has to be the same size and type:nenau
Are we breaking the law by using one in an emergency?

Space savers are approved during the vehicle's first approval.

Each car has a range of approved wheels and tyre packages at the time of first placing on the market.
When an approved wheel / tyre is used, you are limited to 50 mph, and you are only supposed to drive to the nearest tyre depot to get the original repaired.

It's not a get you home solution.:doh

That's all good and well if you happen to need the spare during the tyre fitting places opening times.what if you get a puncture in the dead of night.
Only place you are driving is home.
All five of my tyres are legal and the same size but they are not the standard size so where does that leave me and many others who have gone for a bigger tyre size.

Keep an eye on the OSF tyre wear with km2s on. You'll have to swap fronts to back regularly to keep the tread "flat" as they'll tend to start wearing every other tread block on the outside edges on the fronts and if they get too far gone they seem to just melt away in a couple of thousand miles. Also when they start to wear like that the road noise becomes almost unbearable like they're slapping the tarmac (they're not the quietest to begin with). Keep those in check though and they're a great tyre even more so at only £100 a corner:clap.

When mine were about knackered my van could be heard at least a couple of miles away on the road so Rick will know when to flick the kettle on when you visit:)
