First thing I did was bin mine. Never liked anything in my window anyway .
All stickers are off my truck except 4x4 response.
I did see a novel idea for the old disc holder mind, and that was as an emergency biscuit holder :D
Always hated the tax disc & mine got ripped off from the screen a couple of hours before you didn't have to show them as the T2 was parked on the drive. Got some funny looks of people for a few weeks when they noticed I didn't have a tax disc showing:lol:lol

I must be old school cos I'll miss mine
I also think that it's made buying a car privately a lot more difficult too, remember the tax doesn't go with the car so all cars are effectively sold without tax.

Not a bad idea at all!!!!
Does he make them to order or does he just have set dates?
I'd like my actual Tax renewal date on there

Scan the old one, photoshop it, print it... sorted.
Use the wifes sewing machine, or indeed your own lol, with no cotton in, to make the little perforations around the edge.:thumb2
Problem is, they will always be the same colour, unless you kept a few from previous years to scan lol...
In fact, why not have one of your own say five years old, or even 20 years old, if you have had your vehicle that long lol..:augie:augie. that will confuse the traffic warden :doh

Just wonder how much the DVLA are saving now the discs aren't printed and posted any more, I bet it's a few quid in the coffers and can't say I noticed the cost of tax had gone down. Appears to e creeping up every year.
I'm in the Toyota MR2 club and have a tax disc that shows how long the MR2 has been around 1984 to 2014 30 years and going strong, could we do the same here ??

The paper disc cost must be peanuts in the grand scheme of DVLA things. Now they're making a fortune out of everyone who sells a car. You loose any part of the month you're in when you sell it. Then you get to pay from the start of the month you're in when you buy :doh I make that a win win for DVLA and unless you flog your car in the last day or two of the month and buy on the first day or two then that's a loose loose to us :(
Personally I think the whole tax disc thing is a shame and all road tax should be charged at the pumps.
You use the road a lot, you pay more , simples

All the more reason for it to be bloody cheaper and yes, it should be on the pump price.

Banshee follow link but think does one for each month to tie with your renewal.
I did think leave it on when runs out so folks who have forgotten about new process think I'm out of tax.
Also considered getting a replica of the first one the truck had ie expire 11/03. Many classic owners are doing just this. Can supply a link to a guy on fb making old replica discs.
