For the past few months I've been thinking about the MOT in February. For some reason I had a thought this morning perhaps it's earlier, glad I did. due end of this week. Need to be making a phone call to get it booked in. I Know it'll need fuel pipes and I'm convinced the rear brake pipes on the rear axle will need replacing.

So far since buying it it has cost both arms, both legs and ive had to sell my wife and children. When I px it later this year someone will probably get a sorted terrano if it doesnt go for scrap. Still its ten years old i suppose this year.

It would of cost a whole lot more if it hadn't of been for some amazing people on here.

I really like the SX4, but I prefer the Fiat version which is called the Sedici. Exactly the same car, Suzuki design/build but Fiat money I believe..

The fiat is much cheaper than the Suzuki...:thumbs

Well she hasn't got an MOT:doh

Failed on rear axle brake pipes, a brake light out and a front arb link. The garage was waiting for the fuel pipe to arrive before fitting and taking for retest. Daft thing is the fuel lines were only an advisory as although rusty the tester didn't see it dripping but for my benefit I wanted that doing. Also got an advisory on brake pipes front to back. So all being well it'll be ready for tomorrow teatime.

No cos the dam thing is sat in a garage in Huddersfield with no chuffing mot. That bloody car really really really peeves me right off. Not a good buy at all was that thing. Even when it's got an MOT the advice is to replace the brake pipes, the inter cooler intake pipe needs replacing cos it doesnt fit and leaks. The leak off pipes need sorting. The heater plugs need replacing. There there is the rusty body work to sort out.:doh

By the way in no way am I moaning about the garage, the guys at the garage are sound. They booked it in at short noticeand seem a nice place.

be fair Jim for a car of this age it is not a lot of problems, suppose it does depend on what you paid for it, my average is £400 so know I can spend a bit to get em right, Rick

You need to pay a visit to someone with a scrapper like a Rick, and set some money aside to harvest the parts. The welding is a seperate matter but still achievable :thumb2

Clivvy - until I get some cash through in a couple of months I've no real idea what to do as far as getting rid or replacement. Also need to see if the ABS can be sorted on the old truck, if that can be sorted I'm tempted to keep that one.

Rick - It's an 05 plate so bought for a lot more than £400. Had to spend loads on it since getting it, it would of been a whole lot more if it hadn't of been for some amazing people on here. Each time it needs some money spending you think it won't need much more doing and then a nother big bill lands. I have to say it's last MOT was questionable with the repairs that it needed.

Anyway for the moment there isn't a great deal I can do about it, pay the bill tomorrow and get on with it. The car is 10 years old so will break and I understand. Chances are once it gets all these other jobs caught up with it won't be too bad for a ten year old car. Will see how it runs for next couple of months and then see what money is available, see what cars are around and see which of the two trucks is costing money. I know that I won't get what I paid for it and I know I wont get the money back that it has cost to repair.

well at least you will get the mot,as for other work that needs doing you will have a year to do it as and when you can afford it so a hundred here is not to bad.
mine cost 230 this year but still fair to get mot on a 98.my advisees are miner so wont get done.

Well it's back on the road with a full ticket:clap

MOT, replaced brake pipes over the rear axle, replaced fuel lines front to back with rubber as well as removing the old pipes, replaced a front drop link and a bulb, and he cleaned the brake pipes front to back and smeared them in grease. All for £248

Don't feel robbed at all, the garage fitted me in at short notice. Anyone in Huddersfield that needs a garage RNR Autosport, do a google for their phone number.

Got advisories on:
Brake Pipes Front to back
The remaining front drop link
OSF wheel bearing has slight play
Both Number Plates deteriorated
