You need a mug on the bonnet, wullie

There's a few wee blemishes on it but it's nothing major, mug? As in cuppa tea mug lol

If there's one thing this novice has learned from the kind and knowledgeable men on here is that no bonnet is complete without a mug - be it coffee or tea. :D

But for what I've paid for it I can only think I could make of it if I were to sell it :naughty I reckon it'll certainly get put to use with the boat in the better months

Hi, I'm new to the forum here, can't believe I have not found this place before, seems to be a wealth of information on here.

I have been a terrano owner for 21 years and have a feeling nobody else will come even close :naughty my truck is in mint condition and have been annually waxoiled underneath. We benefit from having a jet wash always ready to hand to spray off the road grit this time of year.

Here is a picture of my terrano, can't imagine anyone has the old shape anymore but it is a lovely motor. :naughty

Due to my annual care and constant washing I am proud to say this is the most rust free terrano left standing.

Can anyone help me with how I'd be able remove this monstrous beast and be able to use the hazard switch as I've a flip screen from my old car I'd like to use :-)

The later models have the conversion panel fitted with a separate switch and single din head unit. The same panel is often offered on fleabay for stupid money. Have a word with CNCFABS or one of the other people breaking on here to see if they have the panel and switch.

If you buy the "facia" you can get a haz button off a primera if I remember right. Or just make a flick switch ect (no it doesent need to flash for mot) :thumb2

I think you might need to do some wire splicing, just get a switch, and test which two are the haz button wiring, I think it was brown and black if I remember right (only 8 to choose from)

Then you can design whatever you want.

Think you have to be carefull with hazard switch wiring, someone post a while ago that cut the wires to fit an ordinary switch and it led to all kinds of electrical problems.

Yeah I'd spotted what looked like a conversion panel on eBay for around £115 for a silly wee bit o plastic with the switch built in to it lol

Think it's going to have to be something that I'll look into and find a proper way to fit one

Lol yep that sounds about right. I got mine at trade for about 65 quid I think, still huge cost, then we made a flick switch off the correct two cables.

I used a black plastic chopping board and one of these switches.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390585777278?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

You'll need a single DIN converter lead , check the plugs at the back of your radio.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-Almera-Micra-Terrano-ISO-Wiring-Harness-Lead-Cable-Loom-Car-Stereo-Radio-/191416393582?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item2c914e5f6e

Make up a cardboard template to fit the hole, once you're happy with the fit transfer if to the chopping board, then mark out the hole for the single din radio.:thumb2

Have a look where my radio is fitted, near to the bottom of the chopping board.
There is a reason for this, it will become apparent when you come to do yours.

I chose a radio without a CD player (it has a USB slot and input for i-pods etc) and it is a shallow unit due to this.:thumb2

The hazard lights work by connecting the GREEN/RED wire to the BLACK wire via the switch.

The hazard light plug into the back of the standard radio is the BROWN one, the DIN fitting is the WHITE plug.

Cracking unit, and no CD's cluttering the car.:thumb2
I think I paid £50 for mine but I have seen them cheaper since I bought it.

I also got a micro USB stick, it doesn't stick out of the radio much so less chance of catching it.:doh If you look at my picture you'll see the USB stick under the cover to the right, the cover almost closes, but not quite!:thumb2
