Is it for holding one of the pully wheels still, or turning it round?

Nope, although you're on the right track thinking 'wheel'
It's for adjusting the bearings!!!

10 points to Fez :thumbs
Will make keeping the bearings tight much easier as it'll fit on the end of the 1/2" ratchet.
Wasn't much more than a tenner either :D
I made mine for free at work:thumb2:lol:lol

Two blunt nails in a piece of wood and lever in between, but you can't torque it up to a particular value, but having said that, I don't find that necessary.:thumb2

Mines the same idea. Two bits of bar welded onto the outside of a bit of tube with a handle for tightening.
Job done. Once I had found the right diameter tube it took all of 5 mins to weld it together :thumb2
I've got the poor man's version a punch & hammer:lol

Hammer and punch is a bit of an ask on the trol. The bearing nut thing is deep, deep under cover :lol
I have one on my Crimbo list :thumbs

Got to admit this made tightening up the bearings a breeze :D
Of course now I have no excuse for them being slack for any length of time :lol

Price has gone up a wee bit since I got mine but still well worth it! Fast postage as well.
Probably fit the Terrano lock nuts too since they look the same to me :nenau

Gotta love those massive Trol hubs! :thumbs:lol

My last T2 had auto hubs so had the big centre caps so you could strip off the auto hub & adjust the bearings with the wheels still on but this on is a slog wheel off & adjust & wheel back on nip up the nuts & check & so on until right can get a little tiring:lol
