 I'm embarassed to report I'm now to be known as Captain Slow
I've just got back from taking my daughter to collect her Triumph Herald from the menders.
Trouble is on the way home the little devil overtook me in her 41 year old 1300cc twin carbed clockwork noddy car :|
My so called modern bit of 2400cc emission controlled ecu troubled piece of poo could hardly keep up after that, and probably used twice as much go juice for the privalige 8O
Help me forum,please help!
Why cant I fix it?Just needs MORE petrol I'm sure, but how can I get more PPOOWWEERR

how about i lend you a tow strap,,, then she can drag you around....
see i love my tdi and it has an on-off accelerator .... and like you we have a slow one too the td just has nothing there
so unless the early ones are just gutless... i think a mini meet would be a good idea. then we can compare notes and trucks etc say south west meet near m4 m5 junction
this seems to be a big problem for a lot of people just now

If I could just get this chuffing motor to go a bit, I could sell it on

Mini meet you say, 8O
Seems a good idea. Still fancy a trip down your way (with a working truck that is)
Anybody else in south west fancy a meet?

its pointless going up banwen with the rain we have just had. there is little fun to be had there when its this wet , just break your truck or spend the day winching
its really good up there but its just clay and peat and lakes
but yes a meet would be good
Learnt to drive in old mans Vittesse ,had it 6 months and a cow jumped on it in wales and killed it.Farmer bought old man triumph 2000tc to keep him quiet.

There's been a spate of cow related accidents recently 8O Trouble is there's not a lot of metal on a Triumph for bovine resistance!
I blame GORDON BROWN, since he's sent all the rain here the cows have been climbing trees and some are building a cow ark in Pembrokeshire
Next thing you know he'll be taxing us for using the roads!

My old 2.7 TD Mav was pretty gutless and my new(er) 2.4i Petrol is not much better. I believe the following Horsepower figures are about right:
2.7 TD 100
2.7 TDi 125
2.4i Petrol 110
3.0 Petrol 150
So if everyones vehicle is not poorly then it seems that 125bhp is needed to make them go.
