When I was a delica owner everywhere I went if I saw another delica there would a "hello" flash of the lights. I think terrain owners should do the same just to be freindly:)

While a good idea as a friendly gesture, I wouldn't advise doing that in Essex. There are hundreds of Terranos and quite a few Patrols, XTrails and Pathfinders, all used for the school runs. Flashing a car full of school kids will get you in serious trouble. :augie

did it to one guy, turned out to be dan from here!!
The flash or wave was supposed to be a LR thing (often read it:augie) but think I only ever got 1 flash when I had my disco:doh TBH never thought about it having a T2 again maybe I should try it to see if I get any waves back:augie

The old mk2 mr2 owners used to flash at each other, the problem we had was as soon as we saw another mr2 come the other way you pulled the light stalk, by the time the lights had lifted up you had gone past each other :lol

Trouble is in this day and age its a very sad thing to say but its just as likely that someone will get out and clobber you. Also a flash of headlights could be misinterprited as a signal to pull out or something and cause an accident.
It used to be a nice friendly gesture, remember it when I was a child and dad bought bought a three wheeler.
When I had my Defender courtesy car I thought it was on fire at first, had 3 waves and flashes in an hour :lol
It was good fun!!! Terrano drivers never seem to flash back :(
hmmmm if i did this round here i'd be waving more than i'd be driving with how many there are :lol

That was actually started by accident when 2 land rovers where approaching each other at night on an uneven road with the lights on and because of the intermittent way things work on a land rover the head lights where coming on and off as they drove over the bumps in the road thus leading each driver to think they where flashing at each other.:lol

I used to flash and get flashed when in my LR S3.
My mate has a camper van and they are always getting flashed/waved at by other camper vans, caravan drivers never flash or wave :nenau
I will try a few waves/flashes at other T2 drivers and see what happens, what about Trol drivers ?

I get waves from the local Landy boys. I think it has something to with the amount of times I've recovered them lol

Out here bikers give a wave to each other, and a strange low leg out acknowledgement to car drivers, that pull in a bit to let you overtake.......

Don't get a chance to over motor bikes, they are normally flashing past at break neck speeds over here, ask Alex :augie:augie

Yes the reason the low leg thing is used is so you d nt have to take their hands off of main controls, although either gear selector or rear brake are temp unavailable when they do that.
I heard a while back about car drivers thinking the bikers were suggesting they'd kick the car :lol
