I took the maf senior out of the housing using pliers to undo the funny screws and gave it a good dowsing in the hole where you can see the little metal strip. Also done the contacts in the plug and all the p!ugs on top of the engine but disconnected the battery first. Wish I done a step by step post now:doh

Remember Hitachi are the only ones that can be cleaned, leave the Bosch ones well alone as they are "self-cleaning" spray ANYTHING on it and it WILL die!!!!

Well I thought this, but mine got sprayed and didn't seem to make a difference (although I bought a new one anyway) :thumb2

On the topic of spraying blocks ect, I did all mine again today as well as egr hose and other hose near egr.

When I was doing my air filter change and LSD oil change, gave everything a squirt of wd40 including what leccy connections were sat on top of the airbox pipe assembly.......which I am assuming is the MAF.......and it looks like it must be a Bosch as it does not look like a Hitachi!
It has not died........:nenau

I tell you what was interesting, swapping maf sensors from old number to modern number didn't change anything really, the running issue on mine continued, would be interesting to see the characteristics of both mafs at work, I still have the old one :naughty
