Met Zippy at West Country Motorhomes in Swindon last weekend. We are changing from a caravan to a motorhome very shortly. The main reason for this is that our beloved "Tessie" the best tow car we have ever had has developed a nasty "whirring" sound from the front offside. Our local garage thought it might be a problem with the front differential. A very expensive thing to fix. Zippy thought it might be a problem with the auto hub a cheap fix ! Anyway she drives fine in four wheel and it hasn't made much of a difference to the gas mileage. She has four new tyres, a new exhaust MOT'd till next May (2015) and taxed till the end of October (2014). The garage has not offered much for her, and I would rather she went to a better home. She is in good nick with only the usual odd scrape here and there. She also had roof bars and a good size top box thrown in. £500.00 or near offer for our beloved Tessie please !!!

Yes you do get attached to them, have to agree more likely to be a auto hub problem. Still if you are going to sell how about a few more details or photos:thumb2

Best of luck

I wasn't sure what to put but will try for a photo tomorrow ! I'm a bit or a technophobe and not sure how to work the camera on the phone !!! - She's red on top with a silver bottom - has a new battery, a new thermostat is a 2.7 diesel. Does about 35 to the gallon towing or not. Every switch, dial and light works (even the little ones on the electric windows) - Previously had a Range Rover and even though was much newer than Tessie half the lights and switches didn't work. She has been fitted with the new 13 point caravan electrics (single socket)Fitted with a Halfords Exodus top box (switching to a small car to be towed behind the new motorhome - so might as well stay with the car!!). The rear parcel shelf cover got lost and I have now found it at the back of the grage where it has been leaked on so is a bit grubby and worse for wear - but still works !!

We are interested, but need to know what year it is, and if it has Aircon?

I'd have to agree here and go with the Auto Hubs being faulty.

I have suffered this myself on a few occasions and found that the Auto Hub just needed ripping apart and greasing up and all was well again.

The truck sounds like its going to be a steal for someone :thumb2

She is 1997 on an "R" plate - there is an air con button but it does not work, so I presume there is none

Fill with 75 ltrs and get 400 miles - She has done 170,000 miles - engine smooth and no problems other than the front right wheel makes odd whirring noises - can't figure out how to put a photo on though -as
a. grumpy old man
b. real technophobe
:confused::confused::confused:

Fill with 75 ltrs and get 400 miles -:

Unless i've got my maths wrong that works out at 24.24MPG which is about right towing or just around the doors
