View Full Version : Tyres
OK, I gonna have to ask as nobody will spill the beans... :augie
So as I'm new to all this and I'm thick, I mentioned the low reading speedo issue on my T2 and Rick said 31s would fix it.
Will 31s go on the standard rims and fit the T2 without cutting about?
What sort of 31s and what are they in laymans language?
:o

Spill the beans ? eh ? No secrets here :D
31s will fit std rims upto a point. That's only to do with the tyre width. If your tyre choice is no more than 2" wider than the rim then worries at all. That's just a rule of thumb by the way.
31s will fit on a std truck but you "may" need to trim the plastic bit of your bumper and possibly bin the mud flaps. That depends on the type of tye you get. Many tyres don't actually measure to the size they say they are, so reall suck it and see
What type of tyre depends on what your intended use of your truck is ?
If you're just doing some green lane action then A/Ts will be fine. More agressive offroad tyres like M/Ts are better suited for pay n play days etc

Event ml698 for an AT tyre, wont rub on the inners of chassis and a cracking road/greenlane tyre.
Cheap too :sly
If you do need to cut slightly don't be worried, nowhere near as extensive as I initially thought it would be, actually quite simple if you have a hammer and a grinder. Realistically the front could be done in under an hour if you have the hammer stamina :lol
Adz went to town on mine! 'Twas impressive
