Forgive me if this has been mentioned already.
So I was watching watchdog..
And they mentioned for Honda Mazda and nissan a number of recalls for certain vehicles in the 2000 to 2003 era in regards to the passenger airbags exploding unexpectedly and causing metal shards to explode too
Honda and mazda have identified which vehicles but watchdog have said that nissan have not currently identified which vehicles or age bracket of vehicle is effected
Good luck all :doh

I was fortunate / unlucky enough to be in a front ender when the air bag deployed.
Burns to my inner arms
lacerations to my face where my glasses were pushed into them.
On the plus side I still have my striking good looks which had I had a face full of steering wheel I may not have.

Yeah I'm interested, it may not even be applicable to terranos but the Hondas at mazdas were in the 2000 to 2003 era so my guess is it may be close :nenau
Honda is recalling two million vehicles and Nissan 755,000 cars globally.
The affected vehicles have a defective part which "could cause the airbag inflator to rupture and deploy the airbag abnormally in a crash".
The part was supplied by Takata Corp. Other firms, including Toyota, have also issued recalls due to the issue.
Earlier this month, Toyota added 650,000 cars - all in Japan - to its initial recall.
The latest recalls by the three Japanese car makers takes the total number of cars recalled due to the issue to nearly seven million globally.
Honda said its latest recall affects at least 13 models, including the Fit (or Jazz in the UK), Stream, CRV and Civic.
Meanwhile, Nissan's recall affects 16 models globally, including the Cube, Terrano and Sylphy.

Something to note too, if you have an 04 or 54 registered car or later don't assume it is outside the bracket, a model can sit for years before being registered :thumb2
Do we assume that we will be contacted by Nissan?
I had a 1994 HiLux Surf and that had a recall for a steering link :nenau

I remembe that one.
I had to have new tyres too, pity hadn't done many miles on them though:doh
I don't think that Ford were rebadging the Terrano with the air bag problem, at the time, but worth checking build dates.
When was the last Maverick sold (built) ?
Wow to think you and your passengers have been subjected to the risk of an air bag deploying when ever it wants...
It's like having a loaded gun pointing in your face, like Russian roulette.
OK to be real, it is a very low chance, very few incidents, so very little risk, but you don't know if yours would have done it,

Wont nissan have to write to the registered keepers of the vehicles effected by this recall?
