Tis leaking a lot no...
Tis leaking a lot no...
Tis leaking a lot YES!...
Are you sure it is brake fluid:nenau
I had a similar leak, BUT it was the wheel bearing and the seal as it was gear oil.
I wished it was the cylinder...:eek: price wise...

This is as clear a picture as I can get, how can we tell what this is? :nenau
The rub n sniff test is pointless as the wheels are so filthy anyway..

Just check the reservoir, if it's low then you will know for sure...and remember to top it up before you go for a drive or it could get very interesting ;)

Not wise to drive it like that, if you have a RTI you could get a healthy fine for knowingly driving a motor vehicle with faulty brakes :eek: Don't do it, could finish up in nick

Your theory is sensible and a wise decision, however it leaves me with no choice (on the Saturday morning) as I must drive to ricks to get the problem sorted :thumb2
At the moment she is sitting outside parked up and will remain there until my trip :)

Can someone snap me a picture of reservoir please?
REALLY :eek::eek:
Look under the bonnet Alex, it's a small plastic chamber sat on top of the master cylinder, if it is brake fluid that's leaking, you will notice a drop in the level

It's the big yellow cap in the middle of the picture.
Ignore the red ringed bit, I took the picture for someone else some time ago.
The problem is, you really need to know how much was in there to start with, but the good news is, there is a warning light for when the fluid does drop below a certain point.
Do the test Rick said, and see if it washes off, and if it is Brake fluid, make sure you carry some with you on the way down to Ricks, and as soon as the Brake warning light comes on, stop and top it back up.
