Well spent the day sorting the motor for tomorrow, first problem steering link shot, replaced with a spare, the top ball in the pic was so worn it nearly came out

Front brakes shot, stole pads from scrapper

Rear brakes shot, stole rear shoes and bits from scrapper, battery shot stole one from another T2, so that was my entire day, looking forward to play tomorrow, Rick

Well an eventful day, first after all my work yesterday the pedal was going halfway down with no effort, so slung a spare calliper and master cyl on the car and departed, on arrival had a look round and could find no leaks, but after pumping pedal to get it hard constant pressure sees it sink to half way did this many times but still no leaks show or fluid level drop, so decided to change master cyl, made no difference, drove round for the day remembering to pump the pedal to get brakes, and at the days end still no fluid loss so has to be master passing, I have more spares, so Slindon not too eventful to start then found nice muddy bog and sorted that no problem only to be confronted by this wall

seems it was to be a day of mechanical problems, this time although I tested the winch in the car park it now decides to stop working, turns out to be poor earth under the winch motor as even the relay was not operating could no have chosen a better place could it

put it on a block to double the winch pull as the angle was bad, metal mesh is to try and keep the dyneema off the dirt/sharp stones

front out, had to give the winch a hand with a bit of traction

nearly there, but had to spend a bit of time doing a more robust repair to the electrics in case we met further winch challenges as it happens we got every where in 4 wheel no probs, Rick

I like the hinged winscreen protector to save any broken winch parts from coming through the windscreen.

Do you often winch with the bonnet up?:nenau

Good protection though, having seen those other videos!!

bonnet was only up cos of winch electrics problem and I use dyneema which does not recoil, but is susceptible to sharp stones, Rick

yep I knew it was there, done it before, trouble with these sites is that they change over time last time I could drive up most of the way and only winched the last bit, this time no way, but good fun except for the winch plying up, I like equipement to work, Rick

This is normal, it waits until the most important moment until it breaks :lol

I must admit it looks very, very stuck :thumb2

I would have waited for the next season to get that out :doh

as it happens she remained mud less yesterday in fact I was quite surprised by the lack of mud this early in the summer, think I must give Picadilly Wood another go, Rick
