View Full Version : I Have It!
Picked up the Terrano this morning, photee attached (can you only attach a maximum of one? :clap
The £350 MOT/welding was on the N/S inner/outer sill and N/S body "at front mounting area"???
And they removed both side steps to access sills and as they wanted another £150 to make up the rusty side steps mounts, it was decided to keep the steps off??
Another story was the MOT cert mileage :doh they added 700k miles as they misread the LCD speedo miles. I went back and asked that they change it and stated that they could not after 24hrs after the MOT was issued. I rang VOSA and they said that they could change it up to 7 days. Unlucky for me I was told that it was MOT'd last Friday when in fact it was Monday 9th June, so they can't change it. I have to have a VOSA inspector see the mileage !! I live in Ipswich and they want me to go to the Norwich VOSA! BUT, they MIGHT have an inspector at the Martlesham, Ipswich depot, but would have to book him.
Quick question (first of many)... the heater is on HOT all the while even when cold is selected. Any clues how to sort it?
Regards,
Steve

it could be the cable bracket on the back of the heater dials . they break . my friend set his too hot because it broke . you can fix them using computer screws
Get yourself some new wings there buddy and you should have a nice truck there
As for the heater problem, give this a look

Thanks Banshee, I've already fixed the heater fan speed. I am at the 'getting the speedo cluster out' and fixing the heater cable clamp. Hot on ALL the while - phew!!
I am in the middle of a search - honest.
Need to know speedo cluster removal, I have taken the three screws out, need to know what is holding the lower panel.
Also how to get at the heater cable fixing point.
Tenner well spent so far :bow

Hi and sorry i personally cant help you with the questions this time around. Dont forget if you need some bits CNCFABS is your man, just drop him a pm:thumbs
Great looking truck by the way:thumbs
Yeah you are spot on Dave123 :thumb2 I have the speedo cluster out at the moment. LCD display fixed, now lovely and clear and only reads 44421 miles instead of 744421 miles that the MOT guy wrote on the MOT :doh
And can see where the cable fixes to the bracket and the metal clip is just loose. Tried to see if it would clip back, but no joy. Have managed to set the heater back to cold for now.
How do you get the part out what the cable fixes to? How does the wood look surround come off? I have looked at the workshop manual and the exploded diagram does not make it clear.

At them moment I have fixed the fan speed (soldered = Free) and the LCD display (soldered = Free) and the heater cable should be a free fix also.
These little metal clips that hols the drivers lower panel and dash cluster surround.... is there a trick to getting them apart or is it a case of a sharp pull?
I have two dash bulbs out, they have 12/2 on them, I assume that they are 12v 2w cap less bulbs?
are you on about the wood effect trim ? . if so you pull the gater one of then you have to remove the radio and the ash tray and you should see the screws . if its the speedo one you have to remove the 3 or4 screws that holds the lower cream trim by your feet on .then remove the 5 that holds the black trim on

Looks identical to my old 2.7 which was a 2001 Y reg, mine didn't have rusty wings though and the sills were good shape too :)
I've got the dash cluster out at the moment, waiting for some display bulbs. I need to get the hot/cold switch out to repair the cable clip.
1) Are the bulbs for the cluster 12v 2w?
2) Yes it is the wood effect trim. Does the bit round the gear change lever just pull off?
I have removed the ashtray and the two screws.
Radio comes out with the aid of two wire rods in the radio holes?
I did download the manual, but the exploded diagram does not make it clear.
Thanks :thumb2
Photee of the N/S sill repair...
Have just been out to check what dash bulbs are out - yeah I know sad :o
Also checked the rear fog lights and front fog lights. On the stalk I assume that the first position with one light symbol is the front fog lights and then the next position with the two light symbols are for front and rear fogs?
Well the first position puts nothing on, the second puts the rear fogs on with a light on the dash.
Are the front fog lights the two small round lights beside the headlights and should a dash light come on for them also?
If so, they are not coming on, any ideas? I have checked the 15amp fuse and swapped for the spare and still nothing.

for the wood effect trim where the gear sticks are just gentle ease up till it pops up and then unscrew the gear knobs .then you should see some more screw that hold the centre wood effect bit on. as far as I can see on the manual there are 6 screws for the middle 2 behide the stereo then 2 behide the ashtray and 2 at the bottom
