Use vegge oil
2/3 cost of diesel
worst mpg would be zero mpg .... for example if you had a serious fuel leak :augie:rolleyes:

if you are talking about your motor you should get 27 to 30 on a run, Rick
Get about 24-25 around the doors in the T2 but can get 32 on a nice run:thumb2
Best MPG i've had was 42 on a long run in my old astra 2.2 & I was fully loaded doing 70-80 so could have got a bit more I think if i'd have driven slower & didn't have all the camping gear in which dropped the suspension by 2":lol The worst i've had was from my 4L disco2 V8 a lovely 4mpg when in sport mode & giving it loads of stick:lol:lol
Oh only ever owned 2 diesels in my life & both have been Terrano's

what  :doh does it matter if you are not going a long distance :thumbs
I know my vehicle is patrol but worst has been 17mpg towing tintent but that is with a fixed solid viscous unit. Best was 26mpg towing a heavier tintent with working viscous unit. I was shocked at the difference that a perfect working cooling system can make

Sweet thanks all, and zippy I'm running on pure veggie (well with a splash of whatever I can get my hands on) :lol
Yeah it was just terrano mpg I was after, we've got 125 miles to cover and debating how many 20l barrels to get :thumb2
I don't tend to hang about on the motorway either :augie
What I get with my binding brakes lol

Pete, I'm with you on this one..:augie
Zero Mpg if he starts his journey and leaves it in neutral for a day and a half, before realising he hasn't gone anywhere...:doh
Or spend several hours on the M25 carpark..:augie
For best MPG, buy a Land Rover, join the AA or RAC and get towed home every trip as always...:augie:nenau:nenau:nenau
So you can get between 0 mpg and infinity mpg depending on how you drive it, and where.
Driving it all day in 1st can cause very poor mpg:doh

I guess rustic has had his truck for some amount of time now :augie
How long was it again :nenau :naughty

Well driving at 60mph/2500rpm I get 100-110 miles from 1/4 tank of fuel but if your going to be doing 70-80 you'll prob get about 80-90 miles to a 1/4 tank
:doh
I Did enjoy your theory though rustic ;)
I'm just working on a theory of negative mpg...
ie the more you drive, the more your tank fills up, so after a long journey, you take some out and use it to fill your wife's car.
This will take some time......
working on it....
might involve a Land Rover again though.....:doh
might involve a Land Rover on the back of an AA relay truck...:augie
Oh no dipping the AA trucks fuel tank....:naughty
Got it.....
It does involve a Land Rover on the back of an AA relay truck, :nenau
Now most cars don't burn fuel 100% so you could stick a pipe on the AA trucks exhaust, and as long as you don't die of carbon Monoxide poisoning, you could extract the unburnt fuel from the truck, process it, filter it, and then transfer it to your fuel tank.
Sorted.
Patent applied for...
My idea...

I am doing around 20-22mpg on 100% veg oil
Drops to 14mpg when towing 1t trailer
And then down to 9mpg when towing another car on the trailer (around 2 tons, probably), all on veg oil.
I guess rustic has had his truck for some amount of time now :augie
How long was it again :nenau :naughty
I am not running the risk of being banned by a moderator again.... see
"Check Engine Warning" Thread... :lol:lol:lol
So I am not saying I've had it over 19 years...
Instead:- Next year it will be 20 :lol:lol:lol

Reminds me of Uncle Albert... of only Fools and Horses...
Del Boy... "If you mention during the war again..."
His response was.... I wasn't going to mention the war....:doh
During the 1939 -1945 conflict with Germany....:augie

With the Mrs TDi over 900 miles on our French trip we got 30 mpg now I was driving and that means I give it welly all the time and 70 on our motorways and 110 on the French which are about the same, I guess at a steady 55 this could be improved upon, Rick
