So, just curious, and I've also read every thread on the forum :augie
What cars have you had and why?
I'll start with my little 2001 skoda Fabia, or skabia as it was known... bought for 1150 3 months and 1 week later the head gasket blew. Got 200 quid for it :doh
Bought a mk2 mr2 for 300 quid and spent a fortune on mods, sold her for 400 quid and she went to the scrapyard :doh
Took my dads v40 off him when he moved to Denmark, that was a great car, sold for 200 quid to a mechanic i know.
Bought a 1998 swb frontera 2.0, great little 4x4, very sentimental again :lol
Sold her to a crazy Welshman for 800 quid.
Bought my honda accord tourer for too much, paid a fortune for engine work and sold her for peanuts as a part ex for my baby terrano :D

In the 1970's I used to work for a NSU dealer and ran quite a few as company cars. I was not a fan of the Prinz 4 but loved the slightly bigger NSU 1200 TT. The NSU RO 80 was a fantastic car shame they never sorted out the rotor tip wear before they went bust and were bought my Audi.
My Dad had a Jaguar 420G for a while- shame the brakes were so poor!!

My list doesn't contain much! :lol
2003 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 3dr - written off :augie.
2002 Peugeot 206 SW 1.4 estate - needed a new back axle so sold for spares/repairs and was back on the road but judging by the DVLA info it looks like it's been written off.
1995 Mitsubishi Shogun 2.5 TDI SWB - timing belt went, not terminal or especially expensive in that engine but the garage farted about instead of doing what I asked them and I bought the next entry as I needed a vehicle! Sold to a dismantlers.
1995 Mitsubishi Shogun 2.8 TDI LWB - sold while she was still running perfectly and still going strong according to the DVLA.
2004 Nissan Patrol 3.0 TDI Di SVE LWB - my wheels for the forseeable future! Love my Trol :D
Oh and I also have a 1978 International 674 tractor ;)
I'm embarrassed to say that I have had in excess of 50 motors in my time ( I'm 38 and passed my test when I was 19). They have not all been great motors either lol. Ill name a few:- first car was a 1981 Toyota carina 1.8 the in no particular order I've had
5 minis
1 mini scamp
2 metro turbos
1 1275 metro,
3 e30 bmws
3 e36 bmws
3classic range rover v8s
vauxhall senator 3.0cdi,
ford granny 2.8ghia
ford Capri,
3 transit vans,
Frontera 2.5 Tds
Xr3i
Currently have a 2001 Astra and the trusty Patrol. There are more cars that I've had but thinking what they are whilst a tad tipsy is a strain lmao. Hiccup :)

Much smaller list for me too...
Fiat seicento sporting abarth (first car) - because it was more interesting than the alternative corsage & fiestas
Mk2 Toyota MR2 2.0 GT because at 21 it was the fastest and most exotic thing I could insure on a part time waitering job!
Alfa romeo GTV 3.0 v6 full cup replica - because it was gorgeous
Then a period of no car ownership through university
Ford Cougar 2.0 16v - because intended the practically and reliability of a mondeo but couldn't face buying one at 24
Terrano 3.0 lwb (current car) - because I convinced myself we would finish a Banham x99 kit car and I'd need to tow it, 6years later it's still not finished but we still have the t2 our longest standing and best car to date
Alfa Romeo 156 1.8 t-spark lusso (current car) - because we needed a family saloon and this has the joys of driving an Alfa with more practicality than the GTV! (still has a red leather interior though!)

It says quick reply at the bottom...... Eerrr nope!
Passed my test in 88 but had already owned a
69 beetle 6volt and a 3ltr volvo 164.
First legal car
Chrysler Alpine 1.3 (written off)
Mum's 83 1.1l mk2 fiesta sold.
86 1ltr suzuki sj 410 sold
87 1.6 cavalier scrapped after I'd done 70k miles.
89 volvo 340 sold soon after.
89 yellow escort estate also sold soon after!
89 fiat uno, gave it to my brother.
Td pug 306 and then kids came along so thought I'd better make more of an effort! But.....
In 2003 a 99 2ltr vectra which was the first car the wife insured herself and had a collision wrecking the front o/s so whilst fixing it bought an old mondeo. Sold when the vectra on road and then sold the vectra.
2000 2.2td espace and a mk 2 fiesta for me for the winter as I'd had several bikes over a longer period than cars. Scrapped the fiesta after winter, sold the espace for good money and took in the dirtiest smelliest laguna in part ex for penuts with full mot and tax! Had to steam clean inside and out before I could let the family in it. Wifey didn't speak to me for 3 days!!
Sold it and bought a xsara Picasso for her. Still have it (3 years now) hate it but hasn't been a problem! Borrowed a kangoo off my dad and gave it back last month (had it 2years!) when I bought my terrano.
Shameful really!! Feel sad now :'(

opel manta, my old man had one of them when I was a yougerster, gte with the twin weber carbs, probably the car that got me interested in motors! he regrets selling it, worth a small fortune now!
My missus had a Manta 2.0 GTE Hatchback (bosch injection model) a lovely gold colour with matching gold alloy anodised wheels before they just painted wheels like they do now.
My brother had a Manta A 1600 in metallic blue and later had a Manta B 2.0 Berlinetta.
We like Opels at our house they were a good motor for the price!!
