View Full Version : New Maverick, well 14 years old.
Hi all, recently bought a Ford Maverick 2.7 TDI to replace my VW Passat 4motion that drowned in a flood. Been a while since I've driven something so truckie but really liking.
The truck is in pretty good condition but it is getting on and things need monitoring but at least spanners still have a purpose.
This site has already helped solve the calapsing clutch damper, lots more problems to solve in the future.
Welcome mate! lots to learn here,a very helpful bunch!:thumb2

Welcome to the best Maverick and Terrano club on the net.
We're not that bad on Patrols either.

Thanks guys, it certainly is a friendly and very informative forum, just finished reading all of the engine posts in the terrano section. I feel like I know a lot more about engines/transmissions, but I'm sure all that knowledge will disappear as soon as I need it.
Thank god for the interweb.:o
Welcome, lots of good advice on here
p.s and I didn't even mention the stuff I am selling on ebay ....oops sorry Welcome anyway:)

Water............ what water :clap
The ironic part of the drowning Passat is I was trying to be a good Samaritan, I got caught out by a lake that had relocated and disguised itself as a small pond. It just got deeper and strangelywider and wider. I used to do a bit of green laning, I've owned a couple of old Landies and in theory know the "rules" , don't go in to water without knowing the depth, keep the vehicle moving the water forward, but I panicked, took my foot off the gas and that was it.
The insurance company didn't even inspect it, once the two cats were water damaged and the vast amount of electrics wet, they said they just write the car off.
Still, it's an I'll wind:cool:

Hi there,
Welcome to the site I bought my Imported Terrano r3mR 2.7 TD Auto in 2008 it was a 1995(N) reg sold it last year after 5 years of ownership. My wife who was the main driver went 3 or 4 times a year to France on booze run. I used it for going fishing it was always the chariot of choice. I am a big fan of Nissan diesel and build quality. Terrano is sadly missed as our Santa Fe just isn't the same truck like drive.
I am now hooked on 4x4 stance and stone age drive appeal even though they are a bit non-pc these days. We now have a petrol 2-7 V6 Hyundai and whilst its quiet, reliable it's just too car like for comfort. Just could not find a diesel Terracan Auto within budget.
Will stick with the Hyundai and probably go for either another Nissan or a Jeep when we have had the Hyundai for 3 of 4 years.
If they still made the Terrano r3mR today I would buy a new one to last for the rest of my driving days.
