Have been stuck in a work rut for so long now, but Effit I am going to Slindon with my favourite winch bitch tomorrow, but also am quite excited as I will be towing with the Wife's new TDi, now I have had many TD's here for the odd repair and none would go up my track in second gear at 1k revs any more revs and it is too fast for the rough track whereas my petrol steams it with ease, however this TDi seems the same as the petrol 1k revs no problem, so looking forward to the tow tomorrow, will report back, Rick

Yup pics will be up tomorrow late pm as for petrol ECU got several of them and a TDi as well, god job I had the TDi scrapper as had to rob the starter from it today, but all up and running now, Rick

I thought you might, I was advised they were hard to come by now so i grabbed it before this Maverick I came across in the scrap yard was compressed into a cube.

I'm sure someone will be along for it at some point, i don't mind holding onto it

Having had a super day at Slindon, and am now wined and dined, will post some pics of the day, this one is well and truly stuck, I came down the hill in front after he was out of the way and exited to the left no problem

it is surprising how many do take road going to this site and still manage to drive home, albeit with lots of bits of lost motor in the boot, Rick

Well now, the report on the Mrs TDi, loved driving it gearbox smoothest one I have driven, low down torque as good as the petrol but the performance at 2000 plus revs well impressed but as I used the extra performance it only returned 21 MPG, do not know what it is about this particular motor but it pulls well at under 1k revs, when I first got my Mav TDi off roader before I did anything with it I tried it up my lane in second gear and it would not have it so just wondering if the Mrs motor has been remapped, but how do I find out? Rick
