I don't see any tipjack 4x4 videos...
All these cars seem to be small and light.
There are some pictures on the web, and a couple show a Transit sized van, basically it's supposed to be good for up to 3500kg.
Seems like hard work to me :lol

A length of rope. A tree and another Terrano. Tie rope to chassis. Take rope around tree and back to T2. Drive :D
In reality it took an hour I think. It was early on in my 4x4 life and didn't have essential kit. Luckily my boy scout know how saved the day lol

It seems a bit extreme just to empty your fuel tank! :doh
Under these circumstances, talking of spilt fluids, what fluid leaks do you get from a situation like this?
Some petrol or diesel from the fuel filler possibly. although this is usually air tight.
Radiator expansion bottle will probably empty.
Battery, would this leak acid?
Brake fluid, there is a small vent in the lid! might spill a bit :eek:
Clutch fluid, vent also in the lid. might spill a bit too:eek:
Engine oil, some oil might get past the rings. Care needed when starting, if after a long time.
Gearbox has a vent, but should be ok.
Same for transfer box, and both axles then I guess.
Have I missed any, maybe the beer can in the cup holder...:lol
Oh and the driver's... (damp trousers):augie
I just wondered what happens to all these fluids in a knock down?
Adding them up, there are quite a few places you have to top up levels in a car.

I was lucky I guess, the only leak I could find was from the gearbox. That was due to a worn gear lever gasket. Boy does that stuff stink. Environmentaly I was lucky too, as the oil that spilt was all inside the truck. My jacket seemed to suck up most of it :o
Once it was back on the wheels I checked fluids before starting the engine. It started easily but was pretty smokey for a while :augie
Zip tied assorted plastic bits back on and carried on :D

When we rolled the Suzuki SJ, it split nothing at all... A lot of the caps have one way seals in the lid, so they can draw air in, but not let fluid out. Even the dipstick, which was at the bottom, only filled with oil, but did not leak. Even the battery, which was my biggest concern, seemed to hydro-lock, so nothing came out of the vent hole at the end.
It only took about 10 mins to get the truck back on it's wheels, and it did smoke a fair bit when we re-started it, but only for a few seconds.
Even the snorkel made from Wickes drain pipe did not break..:doh
Worst part was the mud, it was splattered all over the inside of the car, and kept dripping off the roof on to us as we continued to drive round for the rest of the day.
I have to say, the hardest part about rolling a car, is trying to get the door open, you do not realise just how heavy they are, until you are standing across the width of a car, trying to lift it open over your head. Luckily, for me, we had the drivers side window open, so I was standing on the ground, rather than the slippery glass window. The funniest part was supporting my wife who was in the top passenger seat, so she could undo her seat belt, and I could then stand her up, so we were both standing very snug across the car, while trying to get the door open enough for her to climb up and out. She then held it for the larger me, to climb up.
