View Full Version : Finally, finally
Well I went and did it and bought the Terrano that I've been looking for.
54 plate 2.7 TD SE with only one owner and lots of history. Spent most of it's time in Spain until 2010 so no obvious rot to speak of.
176k miles but the price reflected it at £1625.
I'm pleased with it so far. Airbag light on, had to reprogram the key and the front has sagged a little but all easy stuff to sort I hope. :D
I'll be challenging Alex for the most asked questions over the next few weeks so be warned...
Thanks for putting up with my pre-purchase questions so far.
Cheers,
Ian

hit 'em with your hand bag...:augie
get it wax oiled and it should last many years :thumb2
looks lovely! You can probably reset the air bag light, I had to when I got mine. There is a simple way to do it. If you look in the downloads section, its the second one down "airbag reset":thumbs
Of course if it keeps coming on then there is probably a fault to rectify, but mines been fine since.
Looks a tidy patrol but it's shrunk in the wash:lol:lol:lol hey you've got the same side steps as i've got:thumb2 being an SE has yours got the normal single din stereo with separate hazard switch ? As is said it comes to those who wait & you've waited a while to get the right T2

Thanks for the heads up :clap
Reset done and it seems to have worked with no light on now ' :thumb2

I really wanted a Patrol but I'm a bit of a scaredy cat when it comes to spending money :augie
Yes, separate single din stereo - I was very relieved to see that as I wasn't looking forward to the job of replacing the big one.

1625!!! That's a bargain
It came with the engine too :D
Have to say she looks really great!
Is she a show car or a pay n play? Or a bit of both? :naughty

It's not quite as pretty as the photos make it look but it's not too bad. I can't really afford any decent tyres right now so for the time being it will be family transport but I had a few nice days out with the last one so I hope to be able to get to some laning days eventually.
Oh, and it did come with an engine but only time will tell if it's a good one or not :nenau

i have some keenly priced alloys and a/t tyres in the for sale section, you would probably recoup money for selling your 17's.....

You're a bad man puddle hoppers :lol
Putting temptation in my way like that. I had seen them and they seem very fairly priced but after buying the truck and insuring it I'm just plain skint for a while. :(

Cant comment on condition of your tyres, however i have the same model of tyre and they are wicked :thumb2

That's the dilemma really - the tyres on mine are all good but they're very road looking rather than off-road looking if you know what I mean?

This was my fear when was looking at buying them. Have to say im glad i did. Had Goodrich all terrains on my fronty and they are as good as easily:thumb2
Look for my recent greenlane picture link. Nothing staggered the car or tyres, barely even a slip :thumb2
And they look pretty damn resistant to punctures due to fat tread with thin grooves

Depends on how off roadish you want to get. Road tyres give a quieter ride.

The ml tyres give a kind of "supercharger" noise the faster you go

Bonus:thumb2:thumb2 so easy stereo swap for you then:D
I've just fitted cooper AT3's & found road holding got a lot better & can chuck it about more in the wet without it sliding all over the place but being 17" rims their £102 each for the cooper saying that the lesser known brands weren't much cheaper

Well in a nutshell I'd say get he ml tyres (now or later from somewhere else) i wasn't sure they would be up to scratch but they are very good. Like i mentioned havent been stuck or slipped about anywhere yet.
I did a night time crawl on a very bogged field too (a couple of weeks ago) and was fine, did this the week previous with road tyres on and lets just say it was a close one :lol

Can't you just fabricate a small fold out step when the door opens or similar?

Ahah, I'm just thinking worst case, if he is forced to keep a step on for a passenger id try and build something that fell down with the door so playing is not an issue.
I'm also a symmetry whore :lol
Very nice motor mate :thumb2
Don't worry about getting all you mods done so soon, take time to enjoy the truck and sort out all your niggles first and start with the jobs that are cheapest and then get to the bigger ones
You have tyres at the moment, as long as they are legal keep 'em on and get your wear out of them, then before they are about to give up the ghost go and get stuck somewhere with them :thumb2 then you'll appreciate the muds/AT's more when you stick them on
