Just renewed my membership again £10, that's a total of £90 as I have been a member since 2006, must have saved at least that on all the help online, and fixing the truck myself. well worth it, cheers to all :)

hiclones are fitted in the air intake to the turbo, they are supposed to help swirl the air to assist the turbo spin up, they were all the rage when I first joined the club....don't know if they work, still fitted. no problems yet and my truck has done 170,000 so far.
cant remember where I bought them from but they are like these on www.hiclone.com

This is interesting technology, the 2.4 petrol is fitted with swirl plates in the inlet manifold just before the head, they are only in operation at lower revs but do just that, swirl the petrol air mixture to mix it better, as a plumber I found way back that a straight coil of pipe in water (typical hot water cylinder) the heat transfer was well short of expectations, then I discovered convoluted S/S pipe and found that with a bore of around 20mm a 6ft length would dissipate 5 Kw with ease, the reason being the straight pipe suffers lamina flow that is to say the water closest to the pipe wall travels a lot slower than the water in the middle, with the convoluted pipe it is mixing all the time as it travels so presenting a hotter surface to the water to be heated, so as I see it the same process is being used with these hiclone jobbies, Rick
