great pics. and is that one of the causes the debrie blocking the bridge
It appears so, the water was just diverting round it all and causing the river to become ever wider
Great pic's:thumbs I think one of the biggest problems is the rivers in this country all need dredging:augie & the government should never allowed houses to be built on the flood planes of rivers:doh

Did you not know that the Environment Agency has been selling off it's fleet of dredges as (1) they do not dredge rivers any more as it is better to spend the money on wild life conservation, and (2) they need to be sold as they are getting old and need to be sold while they have a value, one particular item is a supper dredger with only 3000 hours on the clock, Daily Mail a few days ago, OH and they then said not to worry we can hire in subcontractors :doh, Rick

I'm all for wild life conservation but at times action is needed:augie our local burn bursts it's banks all of the time & even gets 10ft up & over it's flood plane & into the houses so the Environment Agency had a great idea of spending 1/2 a million putting in a second pipe for the burn under the road & a bit of landscaping by the bridge has it worked ? hell no:doh now there are 20 or so £250-600K homes that can't be insured or sold due to the very high flood risks:augie it's a no brainer TBH the burn needs dredging to remove the 30 years dumping of shopping trollies, bikes etc & there isn't much aquatic life in that burn as you often see oil slicks in the water & what ever else the factories further up are dumping in it

Ah but Mr Pickles says that all of our over seas aid is helping to stop our rivers flooding cos it is helping GLOBAL WARMING, now you can all see why I have opted out of this whole sorry mess, I am self sufficient with no services whatsoever and say stuff the system, Oh and I am in a designated flood risk zone! yea right load of absolute numpties, if we flood then the whole country is under water, Rick

Your right there Rick as we are all living on an island after all:augie but if you go back in time we were part of europe until the sea level started rising but there was no 4x4's then to cause global warming:augie hmmm must have been all the dinosaurs farting that started the global warming then:lol:lol:lol nothing to do with coming out of an ice age which we're still doing right now:doh but not all is lost just another 64,000 years to go until the planets re-aline & hopefully earth changes axis yet again then we should start going into another ice age:thumbs

Oh, salvage operation, flood damaged stock, going cheap, I would have thought.
Who would want to cook with tubs of veg oil, that has been possibly covered in raw sewerage.:nenau:nenau
Terranos and Mavs don't mind.:naughty

On a serious note here though, has anyone noticed how flimsy the KTC cubies are?
If you squeeze them or even put one on it's side they will start to leak from the cap

One of mine got wet and I had to take it out the cardboard. Made it nearly imposible to pour, as soon as you touched it, it squashed and forced the oil out the top. Had to leave it and put it in a cardboard box from another one once it was empty.
sent from my phone, sorry for any typo's.

To be fair, it does say on the box, not to take it out, but with this rain, keeping stuff dry is a nightmare, I put mine on a wet trolley in Costco, then pushed it back to the car in the rain, and stored it in the garage, but by the time I went to use it, the bottom of the box was a mess.
I think they make them so thin, to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

Or to save on cash, believe you me, KTC do not care about the environment!!!!
As said, my dad used to work there for 21 years, I used to spend my childhood dossing in their yard on Moorcroft Drive and they have been sued more times than I car to imagine

I've not had any trouble with them, I tend to mix in 10 litres of veg as I can get the containers high enough to pour in.

I made a pouring spout for mine, and the next time I got some, the lid had changed, and used a different thread.:doh I now have 3 different types of lid, so I can move the spout from one to the other, each time I get a new stock.
