I spent quite a few hours in Marlow yesterday with our fire pump, pumping out riverside homes trying to keep the river Thames out, we held our own, but it don't look good for the future as more rain is forecast.

We were touched by how kind most people were to us, we didn't want for any food or drinks while we were there, so although their homes are in danger of being swamped, they still fed and watered us.

I know Henley very well, both my children went to school there and we often go there for a walk by the river.
The Thames has flooded quite badly.

My thoughts are with them all too, must be so bad all the flooding, houses, possessions under water, time the government paid back some of those taxes and pulled their fingers out to help them!

yh I really feel for the people who have lost homes / posessions / livelihoods because of the floods , must be heart breaking .

I suppose it has advantages living on top of a big hill , although we have a warning for snow over the next 48 hrs ..... strange weather .

Yes Marlow really not good, the river is in many of the homes, but the frightening thing is the water coming up through the drains, another 20-30cm and there will be hundreds more homes under.
Our old work now have a foot of water over the car park. Eek
