Just had my AA renewal come through.

Been upgraded to a Silver member :clap:clap

For just an extra £13 per month

They can now put their membership where the sun does not shine.

It does annoy me when companies automatically upgrade without asking. They are now 1 member less!

Never liked the AA multi lift rescue nonesense anyway :o
We,ve several rescue plans now with various ins companies. Checkout your credit cards, bank account perks and ins company add ons.
I'm paying about 8 quid a month and am covered in any car I'm in, the wife's covered in her own car.
I had a lift home from a pay n play site a few months back no issues :thumbs

Breakdown cover with adrian flux is only £54 a year. Although it's only insured on the vehicle it would be nice to be covered in any car.

glad this thread was put up you just reminded me.
I have been with them for a while and every year they put the price up.

last year I was paying 12 quid a month for silver membership. my renewal is the same service but has gone upto 24 quid a month .

not to worry every time I call them up (every renewal time ) they always put the price down to the same as the previous year:D

tell them you are leaving for another company offering a better service they soon change there tune:D

if not I will probably go to green flag:sly

We were with the AA for 10 years and never really used them, then a few years ago we got our renewal and it was around £130, I called to say I thought it was a bit steep, to be told by the bod on the other end of the phone " O well, that's the best we can do sir"
O well, you have lost my custom then mush, we are now GEM and get the same cover for less and a nice mag every quarter and both my kids are covered.

Been with them for number of years and have learned to challenge their prices every year.
I haven't used them once, both me and the better half commute less than15 miles each way to work, and it's around £80-£90 a year for both of us in any car with roadside and relay.
I'm a mechanic by trade but I accept that I can't always have the right tool with me or have access to the part I need, so the most important thing for me is getting the car home so I can fix it!

:thumbs I never leave home without cover as you never know whats going to happen and its good piece of mind.
but I too have been there a while and only called them out once.

It was a while ago I know but you may remember me putting pictures on here of the muppet aa man leaving a socket firmly whacked onto the wheel nut.
after a phone call they came to my house, couldnt appologies enough and removed it .

and then the very next day they turned up with a new shinny set of wheel nuts and fitted them for me..

so I know I can get cover cheaper and I certainly wouldn't consider nearly 25 quid a month for cover.
but at 2 quid a week knowing ive got the 5th emergency service:clap

I think they raise prices every year simply because some people ( only if in the minority)
put there mail to one side and think I will sort it later for whatever reason.
and there are others that simply don't read the mail.
once you have paid that first month you have renewed your contract.
cancel and they still win as you will have to pay penalties.

there fault for not responding to the renewal letter.

I happy bunny:D
