You might find that the previous owner has something wired up like a sub ect, I'm sure someone with audio experience will be along to explain. Looks like there's a port for that loose block, does it lead off to something else?

It's a bit hard to tell from the pic's were the wires are going as they are bunched up:( On mine (single din unit) there are only 3 plugs 1 for the hazards, 1 for the stereo power feeds & 1 for the speaker wires. Does yours have a CD multi changer under the seat as it would explain the 4th plug

all I can suggest is you look at the wiring diagram in the workshop manual ..... failing that .....trace the wires .

I don't know of any T2 to have a factory amp fitted & the wiring there is far to small to have been for an after market amp. The only thing I could poss think of is it's maybe for some hands free kit

Don't know what year yours is but some the early Mavericks had a power amp under the drivers seat ? Maybe those birds nests were to get away from that ?

Not sure if it is the same on the later ones, but in the 1999 CD changer is under the drivers seat.

Looks like a MK3 so 2000-2004 time scale, but that's no factory wiring someone has been at it for some reason looking at it:augie I would try & track back where the thick blue (go's to red at plug) & yellow wire go as they look as if the could be ignition live & perm live feeds but the other wires all look disconnected:confused: was this plug plugged into the back of the stereo ?

Spot on,
Alex, you will see a black box under the seat, it has a sliding front panel, you slide this to the side and you will see a cassette where the CD's fit.
Look in you owners hand book.
