Well, yesterday, I called into the local tyre place, took the plunge, and ordered my 4 new BFG AT's.

Today I "popped" up to get them fitted... I say "popped", it actually took 2 hours...:lol

I got there, and there were 3 cars in front of me... in front of the place, was a huge pile of tyres, as they had had a delivery earlier, but had not had time to put them away yet. There at the bottom of one of the piles was a set of nice looking ones, with a great rugged tread, totally different to all the other road and winter tyres in the piles, and they really stood out... Yep, My tyres... I am well please, they look nice and meaty.

After all the miles I used to drive, I am fairly well known up there, so usually I am on the receiving end of the banter, but today, was manic, so I got my car ready for them, putting the trolley jacks in place, and removing the spare, as I wanted one of the better tyres currently on the car, as the spare, and the 4 new ones on the car. I then moved the pile of tyres, to dig my ones out.

Then while they were sorting out the wheels, I got to help fit a £550 dumper truck tyre, the old fashioned way with tyre levers, and lots of swearing... They have another 6, then 4 more to do. After the work to do one, I am so glad I don't do that as a job day in, day out.

While there, a recovery truck arrived, to drop off a car, which the owner had paid to be picked up from KwikFit, and brought round to them... Basically, it was cost effective for a guy to hire a recovery truck to move the car from one tyre place to another, and still save money on the cost of 2 tyres!!!

Then as I was paying up to leave, another car came in, and the lady asked if they could beat her price from Kwikfit as it seemed excessive... Now I live in Sevenoaks, which is the sort of place that the council would not give planing permission for Lidl, or a Poundshop, as they feel it is not in keeping with type of people who live here... Most of the people really do not care about money still, and take cabs everywhere, drink in coffee shops, and buy from boutiques... We even have a "bang and olufsen" shop in the high street, and Bentley, Massaratti and Aston Martin Garages, with plenty of stock parked out side, so to see people in Sevenoaks complaining about the cost of tyres, is a bit of an eye opener...

Still, I got a discount for my troubles, and help, so I was even happier...

The Fuzzmobil looks good on BFG's, now, time to sort out the snorkel...

I used to have them on my Suzuki, and always loved them, took me where ever I wanted to go, with what ever I stuck on the back, and lasted well on the roads as well, I used to get about 60K out of them, and that was replacing them before they got to the TWI.
