View Full Version : Terrano Commercial Sport New Owner!
Hi folks, ive just bought a 2006 2.7 Terrano Commercial Sport with 85k miles on the clock. Im used to Suzuki Grand Vitaras and these Terranos aint half like old farmers un-refined and noisy old motors compared!!
Needs a few parts and repairs to get it up to scratch, but its pretty much good to go.
Ive put new reg plates on it, new drivers side indicator, a set of Insa Turbo Dakars, removed side steps and will be repairing the passengers side front bumper which is cracked!
Need a few bits- mainly instrument cluster clear cover which is cracked due to previous owner putting tape over airbag light!, and a drivers rear mudflap!
Some pictures
With new plates, still with side steps, broken indicator and road tyres

Difference in tyres!

What a beauty :D, you going to be running her on the veg? There is something you can look at for me if you wouldn't mind.
I'm planning on converting mine into a commercial, another member on here, James (Terranobreakersshropshire) has one in that I want the side windows out of but he reckons there's no way of removing them, can you spy anything on yours that would indicate otherwise?
Also I'd be interested of some more shots of your rear interior, maybe one from behind the car with the door open and one from the front two seats inside?
Cheers mate
That might not read well, when I say windows, I mean the rear window boards where glass would typically be in standard 3dr's
Thanks mate. Havent thought about veg, do they run well on it? What mix?
I havent looked at the rear panels too much but the inside is pretty well covered so cant really tell. Ill have a closer look and get you some pictures if you like.

James is right, you'll never remove the side panels without damaging them as they're well glued in. The side panels are an aluminium sheet with a fibreglass panel on the back of them. These are bonded on from the outside then a galvanised steel sheet screws to the fibreglass from the inside then covered in kind of leatherette stuck on with contact adhesive. The trims around the panels on the outside are different from a window version too but might still be available from Nissan. The whole kit for window conversion including 4 trims for each side is available from Northern Truck Bodies (Vic Young Nissan) who done all the Terrano/Maverick conversions but its about £300. Inside the interior plastics are all the same. Theres a polystyrene panel that bolts in where the back seat bases go to level up the floor and a rubber mat over it.
Hope this helps Banshee, I might still have the floor leveller somewhere, you can have it if its any good to you as i've got seats in mine.

Any idea what the bulkhead costs?

A fantastic post mate :) I didn't realise that they were in there like that, when I go and pick all my other bits up from James I'm going to have a good looksie and get a lot of pictures so I know what I'm dealing with, I was promised the panels for £40 so was hoping it was going to be a relatively cheap conversion.
I rang Nissan up in Sutton Coldfield last week while I was on the way to another site from work and priced up the panels;
£207.94 + VAT per panel
Right Hand PN - 9999850010
Left Hand PN - 9999850011
Can I have a pic of the floor leveler? How much are you after for it mate?

You can have it for the cost of sending it if James hasn't one in his breaker
£250 a side, was that for everything or just the outside panels?
When I was looking for my van I went to see one that was advertised as a commercial though it was just a car version with the windows vinyled on the outside and ply lined on the inside with some insulation foam board between the glass and the ply. The seller had welded up the seatbelt bolt holes and had it registered as a commercial to get the £225 road tax.

Thats a spot on gesture mate :D very much appreciated :) keep it safe for me until I've been to see James and then I'll let you know if I need it or not :)
£250 a side was literally just for the panels!!!!!
Is it cheaper tax as a van then? I'm sure I pay £123 for 6 months at the moment

think its only cheaper to tax as a van when it was over 2001 but only by £10 odd I think

Nice bit of info there Rakerman :) I've just been having a look at the website
http://www.northerntruckbodies.co.uk/terrano_van.php
I wonder if they did all of the conversions for the Isle of Man Electricity Board as I heard they were done by some company over here and then shipped over

Nice info, ive emailed northerntruck to get a price for a bulkhead to quieten the road noise down a bit!!

I wondered what you were on about when you said bulkhead lol, you mean the wood that seperates the cabin from the rear section of the car :)
Yeh the bulkhead that splits front seats and the rear of the van.
Surely its pressed steel not wood? Looks like pressed steel in ones on Ebay, but hard to see!
