Removal On a T2.any advice other than.Plenty of lube,extension, bar,with a scaff bar extractor tool,and loads of grunt.:)

Well I never.... not heard of one of them before.... I wonder why it is called that?
Anyway, I guess a puller would be the safest way, but I must admit I have not even seen my steering box yet.

I took one off fourtrak once used ball joint splitter and big hammer i remember it being very tight.My question is why are you removing it?

just unbolt it and give a good whack with a lump hammer the nut is 41mm iirc

he might be doing makeitfits steering mod, that's why i took mine off
Hi guys,just to clarify,i am not taking mine off.It was a question asked of me recently.By a guy a few streets away from me,(I did mention this forum)It was just one of those things that got me wondering is all.
Anyway i had a look under my truck this morning.The nut size is 40 mill.With a locking washer.For reference..

You'll need a 40 oz hammer too to give the arm the reqd TWAT needed to get it off :sly

OK understood, this I think is US terminology creping in, in the UK it is a DROP ARM, and yes they get tight, ten ton puller jobbies and maybe heat as well, Rick

Heat is bad as you need so much of it the steering box oil seal gives up and runs away :o
