View Full Version : scam warning
To all my friends , beware got a call about 5 tonight from a lady saying she was working for the UK Finance Department and i was getting all my illegal charges back. They had all my details and asked me to confirm card id number............when i said i wasnt giving them it i got passed to her manager...David Brown!!!!!!! Again told them i wasnt given any details and was ending the call. They had all my card number and were trying to get the expiry date. After hunging up they called back, i hung up again, they called back quite aggressive and shouting saying they were going to fine me by taking £100 of my card. Well my card has now been stopped and a fraud indicator on the card in case they do try. I have googled the Uk Finance Department and low and behold up pops......Potential Fraud Scam. So please be aware of thiese idiots calling

Thanks for the heads up.:thumbs
I have caller ID and caller barred on my home phone and it shows who's phoning me, if the number is not in the phones data base it doesn't get answered, and if it's important they can leave a message on the answer machine.:thumb2
Call centres from other countries (usually India) show up as international on the phone,I never answer them.:augie

Same as you... I never answer unknown to me numbers. This last couple of weeks, I have been being plagued on my mobile with various numbers, and when you look them up, they are all scams, or PPI/accident claim people. We only have a home phone for the internet, so the ringer is not even turned on, on that, as the only people who call us on that are time wasters.
On my mobile, I have a silent ring tone, assigned it to a group, and any time a "spam" number calls, I add it to the spam group, so that in future it does not even ring when they call, only down side is I now have more spammers than friends...:lol
I wish more people would ignore them, it would stop it being worth their while, and they would stop.
When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought Briggie had had his wallet stolen again..:lol:lol

Same as you LF I have more scam numbers on my phone than genuine ones and same they are assigned to a null ringer, so it does not bother me, I love the ones that ask to confirm my details, I give lots and lots of verbal abuse, then hangup, and assign the number to null ring, most do not bother to ring again, Rick
