Quick question . I have a customer here at the moment dropping his caravan off, he has a 54 plate terrano 3.0 and its making a load noise from the back . Looks like both back wheels are grabbing . What do you think LSD , brake load compensator?

Is it making a squeaking or screaching noise from the BA? If so the oil needs changing pronto (might take 2 changes a few hundred miles apart if it's been neglected) make sure you use LSD oil NOT ordinary BA oil.
This is a commonly neglected item.

Yep, change the oil in the diff when its ready for a change you get banging and creaking from the axel. My 3.0 needs to be done every 25k as even my wife can hear the odd noises.

Just changed mine this morning, no noises but preventative medicine lol. Going away next week so trying to minimise chances of anything going wrong. Very easy job to do...

Yes mate change the oil, seems worse on the later diff with the cover plate on the rear, guess it is cos they hold less oil, Rick

Thanks guys , had another listen and thought definitely diff. So told him to get oil changed. Seems a garage had recently done some work on it . Im guessing they've put the wrong oil in !!!!!!!

I had the same problem which was worse with the caravan on so I changed the oil with comma 80/90 lsd and problem sorted now. I did put normal 80/90 in at first which did make it a bit better but not 100% so then was told it had to be lsd oil. My truck is on 83 k and most prob never been changed. Mine took about 1.5 liters :D
