Ok without being too personal about peoples property.
I don't know about you lot but I wouldn't like to try and find the money to replace my truck again.
I don't do fianance (cant lol)
So in the last 7 months Ive found the money to buy it,do all the repairs and do a few upgrades not to mention the time Ive spent rolling around underneath it.(I don't know how I did that)
my truck was very expencive at 2.4k (wrong time of year to buy)
and I must of spent 2k on it so far and plan on a lot more as it comes in..
so far it owes me 4.5k and it would probably be worth 1800 if I sold it(not going to happen).
so Im thinking of buying these

reckon they are any good?

Also how easy are these to pinch?
I mean I will be leaving it in some isolated locations..
can some one nick it?
I know it has an alarm but theres never any one around to hear it?
is the imobiliser up to the job?

£3.5k as it stands including £2200 for buying

Tyres cost most, got rims for £20 :D

Rear shocks were £100 and water pump was £70

Rest I begged and stole, and I've made all the mods from cheap eBay stuff

In fact it may be less, more like 3.3k

OK yours is a 2001 model so it will have NATs 2, to my knowledge cannot be by passed, but that would not stop someone putting it on a trailer, but then they still have to get round nats 2 it can be done of course with the dealers computer and the correct info but is the average thief going to have that info, nats one on the other hand is fairly easy to do once you have access to the immobiliser, we had to do it on Primera's for banger racing as we wanted to use carbs etc, but the nats 2 we had to keep all the kit including of course the key and switch which die hard banger racers hated, Rick

pretty much hard to pinch unless your a professional thief then.
I know if someone wants it enough they will have it.
I was asking because I was wondering if I needed to fit a key switch thingy between the starter and battery or some thing to make it more difficult

no point without a matching chiped key then 3 start attempts and it will lock out then even you with the correct key will not be able to start it, and your key will need to be re addressed with the immobiliser, but I guess that just maybe it could be possible to readdress another key if you have the equipment, Rick

the amount of times ive thought about selling up sticking my 50k equity in the bank and renting somewhere. preferably in the sticks.
but rent is stupid money and ive only got ten more years to pay up
so here I stay

£7.7k for Foxy (Y61 '54 3.0TDI Patrol) back in March (including 6 months warranty)

£590 for 5 General Grabber AT's

£15 for HD 12N&S sockets and new bracket

£70 for rear step and jaw hitch

Wouldn't get rid of her for the world (certainly couldn't afford her again at the moment!) and plan to have her for a few years!

Had a '95 2.8TD LWB Shogun before and have wanted a Y61 since reading a comparison of a Disco 3, Mk3 Shogun, Y61 Patrol and a Jeep Commander in Total 4x4 and reading the T4x4 roadbooks :augie

£120 for water pump and new belts
£180 for injectors to be refurbished
£180 for two new front shocks
£110 for window tints

ive never had much luck with motors, thinking about it I should have sold and brought another one really with less miles on it

I paid less for my Trol than what they seem to go for as non road worthy scrappers,
£200 for new rear bumper ends
£130 for Pedders rear shocks
£100 window tinting
£350 New Maxxis 751 tyres
£80 for 5 spoke rims, from a good friend
£150 new stereo when old one blew
£460 custom 3" s/s exaust
£80 for some welding work to pass m.o.t (when purchased Trol)

Then obviously general service costs, and other bits and pieces ive forgotten about which over about 3 years I don't think is too bad for what is becoming a classic car.
Oh and £20'000 for a tintent to tow behind it lmao:lol:lol.

The old girl needs a fair bit of welding doing now and some new springs so plenty more money needed for her:(

Loads of other cheap stuff like front pads, ball joints, fuel lines, inlet manifold gasket, belts, drive boots, used drive shaft, used front prop, 2 used steering idlers, wheel cylinder, temp sender ... And other shit I forgot :D

Tell u what, whoever buys this is getting a new truck ... I'll never sell it tho :lol

£800 18 months ago, £50 on a set of part used tyres from here, a couple of hundred on some much needed welding and now another hundred or so on a welder so I can learn to do the rest before next MoT. £100 on a replacement leather interior as well - well pimped!

Bits and bobs here and there, much less than it should have been thanks to Kishada, but all in, not much for 8 months driving and a lot of that has been on free/cheap veggie so probably quids in.

I have CCTV covering my drive.I installed it initially because Gypo's Were looking through my letter box to see if they could spot any keys. And they were nicking things from my garden. Now when they come by they don't even look in my garden/drive.I take the keys to bed with me guarded with a baseball bat and a WW2 Bayonet.:D

my house is like fort knox after my burglary.
2 dead locks on the front door 2 dead locks on the living room door.3 locks on the back door. reinforced doors, alarm, crossbow and a big bat.
only down side is if you have left the house and have forgot some thing as it takes so long to get back in:lol
But I was taken for 7k. a lot of cash jewellery that was worth a lot and irriplacable. and a lot of stuff beside.
the insurance company I was with wouldn't even replace a camera I droped even with accidental cover.
there was no chance of a pay out from them for a watch worth 1000 quid for example with out recipts ect.
my property is now well protected.
im going to buy these cameras to protect my car. or at least shame any shit heads with footage on face book.

well I would cry if I added up all my receipts !!! . my terrano is a 55 plate (2006)and we bought it from car craft(yes silly I know) in early 2007 costing me 12,000 pounds ; but she did only have 5,000 miles on her . she's been the best car I have ever owned part from annual servicing and 3xsets of tyres .we have not had to spent too much on her .clutch &clutch pedal, torsion bar and a maf sensor not bad in seven years !!!!

I paid £3200 in 2008 for my r3mR it was top money but had new tyres, New CD Radio, Aircon Repair, plus injectors & recent turbo.
Spend 2008 £366.
Spend 2009 £855 includes s/s exhaust.
Spend 2010 £860 includes alarm / immobilser /central locking system.
Spend 2011 £1240 full suspension re-build at rear & alternator replacement, new glow plugs.
Spend 2012 £172.
Spend 2013 £168.
Probably worth £500 to someone who wanted one but I hope to get another year or two out of her yet. If it passes Mot in August its going to need a set of tyres. I do just under 8k miles a year. I reckon its cheap 4 x 4 ownership as I do not do my own repairs but use a local one man band garage.

Just had another look.No hard drive.Whilst that is not a problem in it self.
But i was thinking this. You need to open the dvr to fit the hard drive. What happens if there is a problem?would the seller say.Ah you have invalidated the warranty? Not only that to set a CCTV system up so as to view anywhere in the world, needs knowledge of port forwarding etc with your router. Will the seller help you with this?Methinks not.
