what fuel / engine do you prefer ?
bit tricky. Petrol for fast cars, diesel for the rest, but petrol for small cars.
im fussy.
Diesel for fast cars tbh mate :)

Other for veggi
Petrol for outboard engines.
Petrol for company cars
Diesel for economy
Petrol for extremely cold regions.
Both our cars are diesel, Mav 2.7 Td, 28-30 mpg but less when used for short journeys. and Picasso 1.6 Hdi, 55 mpg even at 70 +

i put petrol in petrol cars and diesel in diesel cars :lol
ohh, and i love diesel!
i love my torquey diesel truck, and i love my petrol motorbikes, AND i hate electric cars. unless you never leave the city or go over 30mph they are just stupid. how long do these batteries last and whats going to happen when we have scrapyards full of uneconomical cars leaking old battery acid everywhere? i think if you want to go green then by a big old terrano and run it forever on bio or wvo, thats the way forward.

turbo diesel power, works for trucks and buses, good for cars and suvs.
wouldnt mind seeing td hybrid 4x4s, Stagecoach Sheffield has 40 such
double deckers with a smaller than normal diesel driving an electric motor
transmission. theres regenerative braking to charge on board batteries.
small engine when running is at full power so more efficient though most
of time is on the batteries, like a milk float on steroids!

Finally, someone with the same view as me.... Well exept Jeremy Clarkson lol, I dunno what the point of electric cars are, as I'd always be driving like I'm about to run out of volts lol, I'd be paranoid on a ling journey, if you want to be econoncal, get a small petrol car like a WV golf blue motion... Even ny Hyundai will do 50 mpg+. I see the point if you livi in the likes if London, but anywhere else, a electric car is pointless, also, they aren't even that cheap, and think of all the chemicals and Crap produced when the manufacturing of the batteries etc is going on!
Nope not for me thanks.

thing with batteries that is never raised, is what is cost to replace the set say 4 years down line, plus the electricity has to be made somewhere.
can image plugging in at side of road and local yoofs thinking be a laugh to unplug. get back to car to find flat still.
frankly if that green minded in city transport should park up and use public transport.

Yep, Diesels on the oil the engine was invented to run - veg!
leccy cars are maybe still to get there, but I agree that generally they are a farce both environmentally and from driving appeal. My biggest grip is the bloody hybrid nonsense spouted by trendy greenies in their Priuses (even the bloody name's stupid) as the car has enough battery power to get about 2 miles on leccy alone, burns good ol fossil fuel to make that electricity and still gets less miles per gallon than many diesels that were running around years before toyota started shovelling these bogus motors on people. And they get a bloody tax break for it too!
One final part that really concerns me with hybrid cars is that they usually run a small petrol motor with an electric boost engine. So in an accident, you have batteries capable of producing 100's of volts at considerable current as well as a very volatile fuel source. Surely that's a huge risk of a fire, not to mention lethal amperage if the wires short out.
I love me ol T2, it's dirty, rusty, rattly, a bit slower than some cars but it's still loud and proud of what she is and with a sunken right foot she'll do a magic trick of disappearing in a cloud of veg smoke :-)
