im have ordered a brand new radiator for the Hyundai, also a universal kit car fan, im just wondering how to wire it, now, ive wired fans via relays to on-off toggle switches lots of times but i want to have this one done differently, i want to have it so it can be thermostatically controlled by the ECU but also switched on-off via a toggle switch

anyone know how this can be done? even a wiring diagram will be handy, so when the toggle switch is off, the ECU can turn the fan on itself if it wishes

Can be done with a 3 way toggle switch and 1 relay.

Draw a diagram on a piece of paper, it's easy enough to work out.

Not sure how easy that would be.

Does it already have an electric fan, if not, then I doubt the ECU would have any way of controlling one.

Normally the Fan does not have anything to do with the ECU, it is just a thermostats switch mounted on or close to the radiator, which grounds out when the set temp is reached, and depending on the car, it either has a permanent live, or an ignition live. You then just fit a switch in parallel to the thermostat.

A lot of radiators even have the blanked off hole for the thermostat, so would be worth checking yours out before you fit it.

If not, I would go for something like this..

Cheers, I'm nor sure what set up it is, I thought it would of been done via the ECU? If not, it'll be a thermo switch as you say, I couldn't see anything mounted to the rad when I removed it,

Think I've sorted it, if it ain't a ECU controlled thing, im just going to have a on-off switch conected over the temp sensor, when the switch is on, it'll just bypass the thermo switch, allowing the fan to work, That's the plan anyways.
