what is a mark evens workshop? Rick

Mark Evans is a TV mechanic/builder/restorer of cars, aeroplanes, helicopters & motorbikes. He also presents programmes on wildlife and nature etc. I actually think he is a really talented guy, and he is a fully qualified Veterinary Surgeon. His workshop, which appears to be on a farm, that I imagine he owns is fantastically well equipped, and from where he presents many of his shows from, which incidentally seem to only feature on one of the satellite channels.

You can find out more about him in the links below (if your interested that is)...

We often have a friendly debate at work about who is the better mechanic Mark Evans, or Ed China, who presents another 'mostly' satellite channel show called Wheeler Dealers, where they refurbish, for sale and profit, all sorts of modern classics. Ed China also has an engineering degree.

Once again if your interested you can check out the links below...

I personally prefer Ed China's TV persona, which always seems a bit more down to earth, and practical.

Alan

Ed China is "Botch it and leg it":eek::eek:

The man does stupid things like refurbing alloy wheels and polishing them to within an inch of their life and then fits rusty old wheel nuts!!!!! His acomplis is a complete and utter annoying door handle:eek::eek:

Mark Evans is very particualr about everything he does and if a jobs worth doing he does it right:clap:clap and I'll have the plane that he made cos flying's cool:cool:

This said I'm not really sure the original post was about these merits of these two blokes was it?

There was nothing in the original post, but a title. I didn't mean to hijack the thread just explain to Solarman216 who Mark Evans was, as well as adding some additional interest.

Of course your preferred TV mechanic is totally subjective and a matter of choice. Mike Brewer similarly, but he seems like an OK type of bloke to me?

Hi Rick.

Mark Evans is the reason I first got into 4X4's, after watching his series "A 4X4 is Born".

His workshop is to die for. It is huge, with 4pillar lift, steam cleaner, mig welder, plasma cutter, grit blasting cabinet etc etc etc.

here is some of the first episode...

it is true there is not much I do not have, good spot welder would be one but then I have no need, but sand blaster and the air to supply it worth its weight, did lots with that, Rick
