It's getting towards that time of year again. Does anyone have any recommendations for insurance on my Patrol ?
I don't mind putting the effort in looking for quotes, it's the spamming to death from loads of companies afterwards that I hate.
Looking for a modification friendly company and I was hoping for an agreed valuation too if possible.

Once he stopped messing us around telling us to go and get other quotes, he gave a very good quote, and we now have the T1 insured with him.
My only complaint, is you need to get him moving and keep on top of him, well before your other insurance runs out.
Even when we specifically asked for it to start on the Saturday morning, and him to email the cert over, so we could pop to the post office and get the tax, he still did not actually get it sent until much later in the afternoon so we missed the post office, and could not use the car until the Monday.

Thanks for the replies.
I've tried Flux over the last couple of years for various motor quotes and they've always been too expensive. They seem to have some terrible reviews as well.
I've done some research on 2gether insurance (Dave Brewer) and I'm not sure they are quite as professional as I would like either.
I'm with A plan at the moment and they have always been super helpful, friendly and efficient, problem is that their prices are climbing. I haven't had my renewal price from them yet but I paid around £800 last year for my Modded Navara and still had to pay extra when I changed over to the Patrol which was a shock.
Maybe I will type my details into Go Compare, but with a modded import I suspect some crappy results and like I said I will be bombarded with spam emails and texts for weeks afterwards.
You will find bad reviews for all of them.
No issues from AF from me, They matched my best quote which was simple off confused.com.

My wife put our imported T1 into Go Compare, and it came back with a quote for .... wait for it.... £7000... Needles to say, we decided they did not want our business.
Set up a Hotmail email, and use that to do the quotes, then bin it once you are up and running, we have our own domains, so we set up a new email, like ins2013@lazy-ferret.co.uk, then check it for the replys, until we have the insurance quote we want, then we put a bounce back on the account, before deleting after about 6 months... works well.
A few years ago, we set up an account for each company, so we could see who sold what on, and to be fair, we were surprised as the only ones who sold our details on, were Coop, and Direct line. 5 years on or more, and the coop are still selling our details...

Been with swift cover for ages, can't fault em. I pay about £200 fully comp. Was with direct line before that but left them because they were rude to me. :p

Well after the most searching I have ever had to do and that includes insuring high power Skylines, with some haggling I've stayed with A Plan at £626.
None of the comparison type searches would cover all the mods and most of the specialists said that the type of vehicle and mods meant that they wanted it to be a second car on very restricted mileage and no commuting.
It seems if you have a modded import 4x4 then they expect you only to use it for the occasional weekend jaunt and get it teleported around unless you want to pay massive premiums. The worst mods are wheels/tyres and suspension. I could have got it down to around £400 with std suspension, no body lift and std wheels/tyres but I need to know that I'm properly covered.
Flux all the way, ask for Jake on the 4x4 team.

Flux are fluxing aweful. Ripoff merchants end of :(
They upped my premium by almost 100% last year and the final figure was to the penny exactly the same as a friend of mine :nenau
Strangely we've both moved and got massively lower premiums :D
flux are very hit and miss, Alot of it's who you speak to on the phone. I just said I can get it cheaper elsewhere and they matched it.

I think there are 2 "Flux" companies, Adrian Flux, and Flux Direct, or are they the same company just under different names?
We ended up going with "Elephant" as they took my mods, and gave us the option of either insuring them, or not, so basically, if they get damaged in an accident, they will fix the car, but the mods are our responsibility to correct, which is such a sensible way of doing it. just under £550, with 12K miles, and they even insure me to drive any other car subject to the usual stuff.

I had no issues with Flux by the way. Just when they doubled my renewal I was not best pleased. They did indeed match the next lowest price I had but then I had a quote off Dave Brewer and that blew the new AF quote out the water :clap
So I left :D
My truck is £200 all mods all offroad, not just green lanes. Trol tastic :naughty
Renewal is up in sept time ish, I will be 25 also!
AF were the only ones to touch me, £500 for fully comp wasn't too bad. They even gave me the extra of driving any vehicle the year before when i was only TPFT. I will be trying dave then.
